ART From
                    The Heart.
At The WARM Place we have experienced the healing powers of artistic
expression. Through directed art projects the children and teens help sort out
their grief and emotions and put them into something tangible. Sometimes they
are asked to draw or paint a memory of their loved one who died. Other times
they may be asked to express how they are feeling inside. The art may be
painted on a rock, a tile, or a mask. The end results are always special.
This spring the teen groups were asked at their group sessions to paint a
special memory or place they shared with their loved one on ceramic plates.
The plates were to be a gift to The WARM Place to decorate our very bare
                    new kitchen.
The teens were told the previous week to be thinking about what they
might want to create on their plates. At their next session, each teen de-
signed and painted their plates with great color and detail. We discovered
some true artists! Once the painting was complete, the plates were glazed
and fired. The end result is magnificent.
The one-of-a-kind plates have been carefully hung above the cabinets, all
around the kitchen. Each one is unique and beautiful. Everyone at The
WARM Place offers a special thank you to our teen groups for sharing their
time and talents with us in such a memorable way.
