Television Production University of Hawai‘i Leeward Community College Television Production–TV Pro This career-oriented program is designed speciﬁcally for students seeking job-entry skills, retraining or upgrading in professional digital cinematography, with emphasis on all aspects of video production. TV Pro graduate placements have averaged 80% during the past 17 years. Associate in Science Degree Certiﬁcate of Achievement Certiﬁcate of Completion Leeward CC’s TVPro students have won numerous regional, national and international awards including seven “EMMY” scholarships, competing with hundreds of universities including U.C. Berkeley, Stanford, and San Francisco State University. You could be a winner, too! Lectures and more than 200 hours per semester of “hands-on” experience are the core of this highly competitive vocational program. TVPro oﬀers you the knowledge and skills necessary to enter the TV production profession in broadcast stations, sports, news, ﬁlm, advertising, government, educational TV, industrial and corporate TV, and Hollywood. Entry-level jobs might include camera operator, sound, lighting, editing, ﬂoor manager, TelePrompter, graphics, and news production. As with many occupations, entry-level jobs often pay minimum wages, but with talent, luck, skill, opportunity, discipline, and ambition earnings potential is unlimited. Job placement rates for this program have traditionally remained very high. Our program oﬀers digital broadcast quality equipment, including Final Cut Pro and Avid digital nonlinear editing bays, digital graphics and camcorders, and two production studios. Each instructional staﬀ member has at least ten years or more of professional TV experience.
