Toss Vair Gets a New Ermine Coat
Befitting a Beverly Hills car, the Raffle ‗64 gets a new covering of Ermine White, in line with
its numbers. Sunday last, Paul Kehler and Mike Evans glossed over their hours of sanding
and nick repair at the shop‘s paint stall while Mike Rodgers, Ken Burton and Red Badgett dis-
assembled the engine—the car‘s rear suspension is supported by a dummy block Red and Jim
Stansbury threw together from an old 80hp case for just such uses.
Paul made arrangements for the car to be buffed out this week in order that he can focus on
The next couple of Sundays will find the rest of us cleaning over (under?) spray around the
suspension. Then attention turns to the interior, engine compartment detailing, exterior trim,
etc. Whatever the white board has us scheduled for.
Room for a few more on Sundays or some Saturdays, if you make arrangements with Paul.
Club Birthday Party Scheduled
South county residents, Bob Bacchi and Mike Evans, located a viable venue for the club‘s birthday
party. The date assigned is Sunday September 12 (Saturday 9/11was out for obvious historical rea-
sons). Holiday Park is in Quivira Basin on Mission Bay Dr. And a very popular park it is.
Tentative to some drive-bys at the convenience of Mike or Bob, the plan of operation, since this is a
public park with firstest gets the bestest sites, will be for someone to get there early. the area is a nice
As usual, the club buys the meats and cake. We‘ll see what else we can do at the August meeting.

WANTED: Inexpensive early bucket, or folding back bench seats in sound condition. Sound mean-
ing springs not broken, and foam not degrading. I can put covers on if minor tears, etc. and unless
they're red or tan, will probably do so anyway since the car is red (I bought Barry's red convertible).
I am aware that convertibles use special seats with adjusters through the sides, but will make do
with anything in comfortable condition.
Alternately, if you know of nice seats (prefer without headrests but not critical) available (junkyards,
or wherever), that will fit in an early convertible without a ton of floorpan modification, let me know
ALSO WANTED: Good early springs, front and rear (for convertible, but mine are so bad I'll take
anything, I'd love to have a decent ride height again). 4 door springs would probably be best, or
even wagon/Lakewood, but anything that isn't sagged to the bottom appreciated. Again, alterna-
tives/solutions would be wonderful as well, cost IS a consideration.

Mike Rodgers and the Board are looking for suggestions and comments regarding the club‘s
scattered tools, spare parts inventory and historical materials as well as an occasional acquisi-
tion vehicle or two. If you have an idea, let any of the Board members in on it. He or she will
take it up.
We‘re not sure if we should rent an area, and if so, how large and how much to spend.
Right now several members have club stuff spread out among them. This doesn‘t make
much of anything available to other members or give us an idea of what we‘ve got. Or who has
it when it‘s borrowed.
