Sometimes in a relationship one of the partners may try to pressure the other
one into having sex before he or she is ready. Read the following pressure
statements and write your response in the space provided. Remember the
various assertiveness techniques (there were nine of them)that you learned:

1. "C'mon! Everybody's doing it. We're the only ones not having sex!"

2. "Don't worry. Trust me! I've got contraceptives."

3. "We've been dating for so long. What are we waiting for?"

4. "What's wrong with you? Are you a prude or something?"

5. "If you love me you'll do this! This will bring us much closer."

6. "If this is how you feel, then I guess there's no reason to keep dating.”

7. "Just this once, please!"

8. “Don’t worry about what others will say. It doesn’t matter.”

9. "Having sex with me will make you a real man/woman!"

10. "If we have a baby, we'll get married."

11. "You know you want it as much as I do."

12. "Why don't you have a drink? It'll get you in the mood."

13. "If you don't do it with me, I'll go crazy!"
