KAPANKE ISSUES FACT CHECK ON TOWN OF CAMPBELL PROPERTY TAXES Property Taxes Have Decreased Under Dan’s Leadership Western Wisconsin…After seeing Dan Kapanke’s strong “100-day” plan of no tax increases, a property tax freeze, lowering health care costs and creating jobs, Pfaff’s campaign has released television ads that misrepresent Kapanke’s record on taxes and his service to the residents of Campbell. The fact is, according to the Department of Revenues own figures from their Town, Village and City Taxes 1999-2003, the Town of Campbell’s tax rates dropped 6% faster than the state average. This decrease in the tax rate translates into a decrease in property taxes of $171 on a $100,000 house in the Town of Campbell. “As the Chairman of the Town of Campbell, I have worked to keep property taxes low while providing a high level of services that the residents needed. The bottom line is from 1999 to 2003 tax rate dropped according to the Department of Revenue and resulted in a reduction for town residents.” Kapanke commented. The general election will be held November 2nd. The 32nd State Senate District includes all of the counties of La Crosse, Vernon and Crawford and parts of Monroe and Richland.
