FUTA appoints 2 new DVCs
T he Senate of the Federal University of
Technology, Akure (FUTA) has elected
two new Deputy Vice-Chancellors for the
institution.
They are Professor Debo Adeyewa, who is in
charge of Academic Matters and Professor
Joseph Akinlabi Fadamiro, who takes charge
of Development. The duo emerged at the
meeting of Senate held on Monday,
December 14, 2009.

rofessor Adeyewa, who until this
new appointment was Deputy Vice-
Chancellor (Development), joined
the services of the Federal
University of Technology, Akure as Assistant
Lecturer in October, 1989. He rose through
the ranks, becoming a Professor in 2006.
Professor Debo Adeyewa had earlier
attended the University of Ife (now Obafemi
Awolowo University) where he had his first
Degree, Masters and Ph.D Degrees.
He has held several positions in the
University, including Head, Department of
Meteorology and Dean, School of Earth and
Mineral Sciences, among others. He is also a
member of several learned societies.
Professor Adeyewa is happily married and
has children.
