CEO Vision Statement Anheuser-Busch, Fort Collins Brewery
The Company Wellness Mission is to: “Enable employees and their families to physically enjoy life inside and outside of work and well into retirement through education, prevention and early detection programs” We realize that the strategic goals of the Company cannot be met without a safe and healthy workforce. This includes practicing safe and healthy habits at work, home and play. With a focus on education, prevention and early detection programs, we strive to provide the knowledge and tools for employees to make healthy lifestyle choices. Health care expenditures continue to rise and controlling those costs are imperative to future business success. Wellness and safety programs have the single greatest influence on controlling these costs from within the organization. As most losses are associated with lifestyle choices and not following safe practices, we feel we can reduce these loses with interventions in our education, prevention and early detection programs. The Fort Collins Brewery Vision includes the following: “promoting a proactive and personal responsibility approach to wellbeing through healthy choices, behavior modification and a good relationship with the primary care provider” We believe that people need to take responsibility for the choices they make in their lives. We spend significant resources and provide incentives to encourage our employees to visit their primary care provider. The Company provides excellent health benefits and we want employees to utilize those services for early detection and building a trusting relationship with their provider. “utilizing safety practices not only at work, but at home and during recreational activities” The well being of our people is dependant on safe behavior. Safety doesn’t stop when an employee leaves the facility. The education and awareness concepts need to be practiced at home and during recreation. Taking responsibility for our actions and life choices is also strongly communicated. “sharing concepts and being a positive role model for the family” We can make positive lifestyle choices a reality and a way of life not only at work but also in the home. I believe it is important for senior management to be a role model for our employees. In order to create a cultural shift to a safe and healthy lifestyle within the organization, employees need to know that this is what their management supports and believes in. I set an example for our employees by practicing safe behaviors, running at lunch, participating in wellness events and communicating these events and expectations to our staff. People often look to their leaders for
direction and the way I can make a difference for our brewery is by being a positive role model and an example for others to follow.
