Elastomeric Pads
  1     Pads shall be ½ ± 1/16 in. (13 ± 2 mm) thick
        Pad diameter not more than 1/16 inch less than the inside diameter of the
  2
        retaining ring
        Pads made from polychloroprene (neoprene), meeting Classification D2000
  3
        requirements
        Pads made from other elastomeric materials are permitted if the
  4     performance meets the qualification of unbonded capping system and
        verification of re-use of pads are met
        Elastomeric pads shall be supplied with the following information-
  5     Manufactures or supplier name, Shore A Hardness, and applicable
        compressive strength range
  6     Qualification tests for compressive strengths of 7000 to 12000 psi is required
        Record of date pads placed in service, durometer, and number of uses
  7
        maintained
        Inside diameter is not less than 102% or greater than 107% the diameter of
  10
        the cylinder.
  11    The surface that contacts the bearing block of the test machine shall be
        plane within 0.002 inch or 0.05 mm
        No gouges, grooves, protrusions, or indentations greater than 0.010 inch or
  12    0.25 mm or inch deep or greater than 0.05 in squared or 32 mm squared in
        surface area
  13    Minimum wall thickness shall be 12 mm or 0.47 in for 6 in retainers or 9 mm
        or 0.35 in. for 4 inch retainers
  14  Minimum base plate thickness shall be 12 mm or 0.47 in for 6 in (150 mm)
      retainers or 8 mm or 0.30 in. for 4 in (100 mm) retainers
