X-Press Update™ Discontinuation Statement for SiteProtector™ 2.0 Service Pack 2 August 15, 2003 AFFECTED PRODUCTS or SERVICES: • SiteProtector™ 2.0 with Service Pack 2
DESCRIPTION: In order to help customers plan product updates, Internet Security Systems (ISS) is notifying customers that SiteProtector™ 2.0 Service Pack 2.1 will be required in order to continue receiving X-Press Update™ product enhancements after November 13, 2003. Internet Security Systems will discontinue X-Press Update(s) for SiteProtector version 2.0 Service Pack 2 on this date. Updating SiteProtector version 2.0 to Service Pack 2.1 will enable continuous X-Press Update(s). This announcement provides three months early notice to ensure uninterrupted XPress Update(s) for end users. This announcement does not pertain to other RealSecure® or Proventia™ platforms. TECHNICAL SUPPORT: Customer Support provides telephone troubleshooting and workaround assistance on our products for the current major version and the one previous, thus no change in Technical Support will be made as a result of the Service Pack 2.1 release. Please note that technical support resolution may be that the customer will need to upgrade to the latest RealSecure SiteProtector 2.0 Service Pack. Technical Support is available 24 hours a day through the Americas location. All other locations are open Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, during their local time, excluding ISS published holidays. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING? In order for ISS to provide the best protection with minimal cost to our customers, it is necessary to focus limited resources on the most current software releases. Doing so enables ISS to provide security updates to a broader set of security issues on a wider set of supported platforms more quickly, which provides better protection for assets critical to your business. MIGRATION PATH: This notice provides adequate time to plan and apply Service Pack 2.1 with minimal impact on XPU service. ISS recommends that end users upgrade to RealSecure SiteProtector 2.0 Service Pack 2.1.
