Job Title:             Assistant Youth Programs Co-ordinator
Wage Rate:             $10.25 per hour
Hours per Week:        32
Duration:              9 weeks
Level of Education:    Post Secondary

Job Description:

The Assistant Youth Programs Co-ordinator will assist the Manager and Youth Programs
Co-ordinator with the implementation of the Summer Company Program. This includes
support help to the Youth Programs Co-ordinator in the organization of training sessions,
mentor meetings, site visits and communication with participating students. The student
will also assist with minor clerical duties such as answering the phone, greeting clients,
making appointments, correspondence and stocking literature shelves. Updating the
website and Facebook page are included in the duties, as is assisting in the organization
of seminars and/or workshops geared to small businesses in Saugeen Shores and
throughout Bruce County. The Assistant Youth Programs Co-ordinator will be responsible for
the distribution electronically and in the form of flyers, etc. of information of interest to the
business community.

This is a career-related experience/position and may appeal to students in several fields of
study: office administration, business, event/meeting organization. The position of Assistant
Programs Co-ordinator covers all of these fields, offering a valuable hands-on experience which
is a good basis for future job opportunities. As our office is also a resource for starting and
existing businesses, a student interested in pursuing a business career or operating their own
business will benefit from observing (and assisting with) how a business is created from start to
finish. The exposure to resources available for businesses and entrepreneurs will also be
beneficial to the three fields listed.

Requirements: This position is being advertised in anticipation of funding under the Canada
Summer Jobs (CSJ) initiative. To be eligible for this position, you must be between 15 and 30
years of age on the start date of the job. You also must have been a full-time student during the
previous academic year and be intending to return to full-time studies in the next academic year.
You also must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a refugee under the Immigration
and Refugee Protection Act.
