You must fill in all sections of the full plans application. You must sign and date the statement. 2. You must submit this notice before work starts on site. 3. You must submit a full plans application if you plan to carry out work to other buildings, which will be used for a relevant use as designated: a) as a workplace under Part II of the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997; and b) a use designated under the Fire Precautions Act 1971. These buildings currently include shops, offices, hostels, boarding houses and factories. 5. There is another charge, called the ‘inspection charge’ which you will have to pay once works starts on site. 4. You must send the correct charge with your building notice. If you are paying by cheque, please make it payable to: ‘Southwark Corporation (Building Control)’. If you wish to pay by credit/debit card please contact the Building Control administration team on 020 7525 5500. 6. Charges for building control are set under the Building (Local Authority Charges) Regulations 1998. You can get a leaflet giving details of the charges from the office shown over the page. 7. You must submit four (4) copies of the plans if the work will be carried out to a building, which will be used for relevant use and involves the means of escape in case of a fire. In all other cases we will only need two copies. 8. You will need to submit a commencement notice at least two (2) days before work starts on site. 9. If the work does not start, the passed plans will stop being effective three (3) years from the date of approval under Section 32 of the Building Act 1984. 10.These notes are for general guidance only. There are full details about submitting a building notice in Regulation 14 of the Building Regulations 2000 (as amended). 11. This form is not for works that have already been completed, in this instance a regularisation application form must be submitted.
