Agreement for Part-Time Employment Performing Domestic Services
Employment Agreement made on the (date), between (Name of Employee) of
(street address, city, state, zip code), referred to herein as Employee, and (Name of
Employer, of (street address, city, state, zip code), referred to herein as Employer;
Whereas, Employer needs the services of a domestic employee on a part-time
basis; and
Whereas, Employee has been engaged in and has had at least (number) years
of paid experience as a domestic services employee;
Now, therefore, for and in consideration of the mutual covenants contained in this
agreement, and other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of
which is hereby acknowledged, the parties agree as follows:
1. Nature of Employment
Employer hereby employs Employee for domestic services of the following
nature: (description of duties to be performed), and Employee accepts and agrees to
such employment. Employee agrees to do all of the duties mentioned without
supervision, since the work must be done at times Employer is absent from the
premises. Employee, in addition, is willing to accommodate all reasonable demands that
Employer may communicate by telephone or by notes or instructions left on the
premises.
2. Hours of Employment; Access to Premises
Employee shall work at least (number) hours per week, but not more than
(number) hours per week, in accomplishing all routine household chores and in
accomplishing the tasks outlined by Employer for that week. Beyond this, Employee is
free to do the work at whatever time of day Employee desires, as long as the work is
accomplished by (day of week) of each week. Employee will be issued a set of keys to
the house of Employer.
4. Compensation
Employee shall be paid at the rate of $_________ per hour, which compensation
shall total at least $__________ per week, but not more than $__________ per week.
If Employer requests, and Employee is available to take charge of, preparations for
dinner engagements scheduled by Employer for small parties, Employee shall be paid
at the increased rate of $_________ per hour. Such preparations shall not include food
preparation, but shall include making provision for assuring that the necessary china,
silver, and linens are ready for service.
5. Payment
Payment shall be by check, left on the premises by Employer, in the amount of
the hours agreed to be worked on a routine basis. If there is previous agreement on the
number of additional hours required to accomplish all tasks requested in a particular
week, payment will cover this number of hours. In all other cases calling for additional
compensation, the additional charges for services performed will either be paid the
subsequent week, or mailed to Employee, whichever manner of payment is requested
by Employee.
6. Severability
The invalidity of any portion of this Agreement will not and shall not be deemed to
affect the validity of any other provision. If any provision of this Agreement is held to be
invalid, the parties agree that the remaining provisions shall be deemed to be in full
force and effect as if they had b
