Definition of Congruent
Triangles
(CPCTC)
   Two triangles are congruent if and
only if their corresponding parts are
congruent

   You may use this only AFTER you
have proven triangles congruent!
Side-Side-Side
Congruence
   If the sides of one triangle are
congruent to the sides of a second
triangle, then the triangles are
congruent.
   Abbreviation: SSS
Side-Angle-Side
Congruence
   If 2 sides and the included angle of
one triangle are congruent to two
sides and the included angle of
another triangle, the triangles are
congruent.
– Included Angle: the angle formed by the
known sides
