     PET packaging business in Europe


Barcelona, January 7th, 2009 – LA SEDA DE BARCELONA has appointed John
Gillison as the new Chief Operating Officer of the company. Gillison joined the
group 14 months ago following the acquisition of AMCOR’s European PET
packaging business, currently APPE, the PET Packaging Division of La Seda
de Barcelona.

Mr. Gillison -BA in History at Nottingham University in England- has worked in
the development and growth of the PET packaging business in Europe for the
past thirteen years. He had previously held management positions in the
business of Continental Can Packaging. Six years ago, John Gillison was
appointed Unit Director for the production of AMCOR Packaging in the UK.
Furthermore, he assumed the operational responsibility for AMCOR Europe as
Production Vice President, participating in the growth capacity of the other
regional production plants.

In his new role as Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Gillison will manage all activities
related to PTA, PET resin and preforms, as well as the recycling initiatives at La
Seda de Barcelona. Mr.Gillison, reporting directly to the company’s President,
will additionally develop the concept of offering integrated solutions for
customers across the whole product range.

With this appointment, John Gillison, who currently carries out its duties as Vice
President and General Manager of APPE, replacing Joan Brat who ends his
executive functions although he will continue acting as consultant for the
company.
