process of making application for a Family Health Team. The local Physicians practice out of the Kincardine Community Medical Clinic which is located adjacent to the Kincardine Hospital (South Bruce Grey Health Centre – Kincardine). The hospital maintains a 36 bed acute care unit including 3 SCU beds. Services provided through the hospital are laboratory, diagnostic imagining (radiology, ultrasound, BMD, mammograms, newly built operating room, day surgery, 24/7 emergency department, decontamination room for Bruce Power, Specialist Clinics and a Heliport on site. Specialists come to the area on a weekly, bi-weekly and monthly basis and include General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Respirology, Gynecology, Rheumatology, Urology, Radiology, Pediatrics, Endocrinology. The Kincardine Physicians Group offers: • Flexible schedules, either part-time for full time are available. • Emergency Room rotation is optional. • Changing to an electronic medical record system (Health Care). • A good working relationship amongst the Group and support staff. The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care “Under Serviced” designation offers: • Incentive grant of up to $15,000, paid over 4 years may be available to GP/FPs • The Free Tuition Program offers physician applicants up to $40,000 ($10,000 per year for 4 years) in exchange for a three or four year return-of service commitment.
