GENERAL INFORMATION The 2008 Mack Brown Texas Longhorns Football Camp is open to all young football players between grades 4-12. Camp sessions are divided by age and ability. The camp is coached by The University of Texas coaching staff and assisted by some of the top high school and college coaches in the country. The staff provides 24-hour supervision for all campers. WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT?
In each camp, players receive instruction in all aspects of football, including: passing, rushing, receiving, line play, blocking, and pass and run defense. Fundamentals and techniques of each position are taught and practiced at three daily sessions. One session emphasizes competition in small groups and teams.

HOUSING AND MEALS Overnight campers are housed at University Towers (24th St.). All meals are “all you can eat” buffet style. Day campers are served lunch and dinner. If you do not name a roommate preference, we will assign one PRIOR to Check-In. A $25 refundable key deposit is required. WHAT TO BRING Each camper receives a camp T-shirt and shorts upon check-in. All campers, except for the Mini Campers, receive a Longhorn football jersey. This is a non-contact camp, so football pads are not needed. T-shirts and shorts are required for all practice sessions. Practice Clothes: Tennis shoes (grass cleats if you already have them), T-shirts, gym shorts, athletic socks, athletic supporters, and mouthpiece. Personal: Summer clothes, toiletries, soap, towels, and a gym bag. Linens: Bring your own pillow, sheets, and blankets. (The beds are twin extra long.) Spending Money: Campers are responsible for their own valuables. The Mack Brown TexasLonghorns Football Camp does not assume any responsibility for lost or stolen items or money. Snacks/Drinks (Chips, Crackers, Granola Bars, Gatorade, Water, etc.) TRAVELING BY AIR OR BUS? Campers traveling to Austin by air or bus should plan to arrive by noon on the first day of camp and depart after noon on the final day of camp. Transportation to and from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport or the bus station is provided by camp staff upon request for a $20 fee. Please send a copy of the travel itinerary before arrival into Austin. PARKING “The mission of our parking and transit department is to be the national leader in creating the most efficient and respected campus-wide parking, transportation and services programs.” As a result, parking is strictly enforced at all times, especially during summer camp. Following are some parking reminders regarding camp. Thanks in advance. Registration Parking – Please park in lot 70 C, which is south of the MAG parking garage at 2017 Robert Dedman Dr. Do not carry luggage with you to registration in that you will have to make another trip to the University Towers to check into the dorm. Registration parking, and only registration parking, is complimentary in lot 70 C on your day of registration.
University Towers Parking – Be it registration or just visiting your camper, please park in the University Towers parking garage, which is located at the corner of W. 23rd St. and Pearl St. At no times should you park curb side of Pearl St. in that you may be cited by the City of Austin. Parking in the University Towers parking garage is complimentary when visiting your camper at the dorm. Viewing camp practices – Please park in MAG parking garage, which is at 2017 Robert Dedman Dr., when visiting to view your camper at either the DKR Texas Memorial Stadium or Frank Denius Practice Fields. Manor Garage is a Central Pay Garage. There are NO CASHIERS LOCATED AT THE EXITS. Instead, two payment methods are used; Central Pay – park your vehicle and take your ticket with you. When you are ready to leave, go to the cashier office before you go back to your vehicle. During some general events on campus, the Manor Garage is a Pre-Pay Garage – you will pay at the entrance before you drive into the garage. The telephone number to Manor Garage is (512) 232-1545. Parking in surface lot on the University campus requires a valid university permits. Parking without the required permit, or parking in the LBJ library lot (Lot 38) or the TCC lot (Lot 40) will result in the issuance of a citation.
