        Highly Qualified Personnel

Teachers who have met HOUSSE criteria will
not have to take additional courses or take
specific Subject Area Tests to be deemed
“Highly Qualified” by NCLB Standards.
                    HOUSSE option expired
                       June 30, 2006.

Teachers who have National Board Certification from the National
Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) meet Highly
Qualified Teacher Standards if assigned to area/grade in which
they hold such designation.

Subject Area Exam scores from 1988 to present must be
recorded in School District’s certification data screens.

Out-of-state teachers with certification reciprocity will need to
provide Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) verification if no Florida
subject area exam is on file.
