     process, as well as a nomination form. The ACC's Awards Committee meets each winter
     to review all nominations received, and makes its recommendations to the Board of
     Directors prior to the Annual General Meeting. For this reason, your nomination must
     be received by the Alpine Club's National Office no later than December 31st.

     It is the hard work of our volunteers that has made the ACC the successful organization

                        THE ALPINE CLUB OF CANADA
                        ERIC BROOKS LEADER AWARD


                "A mountaineering and ski mountaineering award for a
        strong commitment to learning and applying technical and leader skills"

The ACC Leader Award was instituted in 2001 and its name changed in 2005. The form
of this award is a framed certificate or plaque describing the award.

This award is presented to members of The Alpine Club of Canada (ACC) who have
demonstrated a strong, consistent commitment to learn and apply technical and leader
skills in mountaineering or ski mountaineering on National or Section organized
activities. The Eric Brooks Leader Award would usually be awarded to members before
consideration for the Silver Rope for Leadership Award.

Nominations can be made by:
- any ACC member, or
- endorsement from the nominee's Section Executive, represented by the Chairperson, or
- for an unaffiliated member endorsement of the Clubs Executive Committee, represented
  by the VP Activities

Nominations for this award are made in writing on the specified nomination form to the
Awards Committee via the Alpine Club of Canada no later than December 31st. The
Awards Committee will evaluate and present the submitted nominations to the Board of
Directors prior to the spring Annual General Meeting (AGM). The successful nominees
must have a favourable vote of not less than a majority of the voting members of the
Board. Award recipients will receive their award at the spring AGM or in some other
suitable manner.
