           Once upon a time in the West… Pacini, from Quebec to Calgary!

(La Prairie, April 22, 2010) – Pierre Marc Tremblay, President and CEO of Pacini Restaurants,
proudly announces the opening of a Pacini restaurant in Calgary, the chain’s first restaurant outside of
Quebec. True to its business plan, the company has started its cross-Canada expansion after opening
two new restaurants in Quebec in 2009.

More than $3.8 million have been invested by franchisees, Jim Muir, Stewart Winterburn, Bruce
Stewar and Frank Kernick to create the chain’s 26th restaurant, which can seat 220 customers and
employs 70 people trained by Pacini’s Quebec employees. Located next to the Acclaim Hotel near
Calgary International Airport, which serves 12 million passengers a year, and close to a community
with more than 65,000 homes and 3,000 businesses, the new Pacini was opened during an event with
250 guests and a performance by Marco Calliari, songwriter and spokesperson for the chain.

New customers were quickly won over by the smiling and attentive service, authentic and delicious
Italian cuisine, quality ingredients, Bread Bar™, fabulous decor and friendly atmosphere that has been
delighting Quebecers for many years. “Love of food, love of people is far more than our slogan. It is an
expression of our passion and our values. A philosophy and a commitment that consumers in Western
Canada seemed to enjoy as much as our customers in Quebec,” declared Pierre Marc Tremblay.
“People were thrilled, charmed, captivated, completely under a spell,” said Marco Calliari, who
performed a one-hour show at the opening to the delight of the guests.
