Rhode Island The founder of Rhode Island is Roger Williams. Roger Williams founded Rhode Island in 1636. Rhode Island is in the New England part of the colonies. Rhode Island is located near New York, Massachusetts, and the Connecticut colonies. Some of the reasons that the colony was founded was because Roger Williams wanted to have a colony that could worship what they wanted to. Another reason was so people could believe that they wanted to believe in, like their religion. Rhode Island became a safe place to for dissenters. Some of the resources that were found in Rhode Island was iron, ships, trees, fruits, and vegetables. Some positive aspects of my colony is you are able to believe in what religion you would like to. Another is that you are able to worship what you want. They could also trade with the Native Americans. Some negative aspects was Rhode Island fought with the Native Americans. They also had war with the Native Americans.
