Siemens is involved in building the Tangier wind park, which is the
largest of its kind on the African continent. The company is also still
playing a major part in the electrification and automation of a number of
industrial establishments. In fiscal 2008 (October 1, 2007 – September

New orders totaled more than EUR 83 million. Siemens currently has
more than 250 employees in Morocco.

In fiscal 2008, Siemens in Morocco scored major successes in the following
Sectors:

Industry Sector
Siemens was awarded several contracts in industrial areas with customers
such as Ciments du Maroc S.A., which placed an order for the new cement
factory in Agadir. Orders for electrical equipment were received from Emaar
Properties and Besix- Somagec Morocco for the Tinja City Development and
the five-star Mazagan tourist complex in El Jadida respectively. The products
and technical know-how of the Industry Sector were in great demand for
cement manufacture, mining, harbor development and the metalworking
industry. Siemens is also a major supplier of innovative technology in the form
of remote processing systems for water treatment and control systems for
water distribution in the cities of Tangier, Tetouan (near Tangier), Rabat and
Kenitra (near Rabat).

Energy Sector
GAMESA, one of the largest producers of wind farms in the world, which
successfully bid for the Tangier wind farm initiated by the Office National de
l’Electricité (ONE), awarded a contract to Siemens via the Spanish company
Global Energy Services S.A. (GES) for the electrical installations including the
extension of the high voltage station with switchbays for two 225 kV power
transformers and 33 kV medium-voltage switchgear. The wind farm will
generate 140 MW of electricity, with an annual average output of 526.5
gigawatt-hours. It will supply the entire city of Tangier and its neighboring
villages with electricity.

Healthcare Sector
Siemens was awarded several orders from government hospitals in
Casablanca, Fes and Marrakesh for CATHLAB catheterization rooms. At the
Rabat Government Hospital Siemens installed the first CATHLAB
catheterization room in Morocco and a MAMMOMAT 3000 Nova, our analog
mammography system for screening and diagnostics in high-volume patient
facilities.

A well-rounded team of more than 250 engineers, technicians and
administrative experts enables Siemens Morocco to offer complex solutions
that are precisely tailored to customers’ needs. The company maintains
product management teams, project offices, workshops, laboratories and
warehouses for this purpose. Siemens qualified staff is available for
installation and commissioning and to provide training and customer service
on location.

Founded in 1956 under the name Siemens Maroc SARL, the company
changed its name to Société Electrotechnique et de Télécommunications S.A.
(SETEL) in 1973. After a change in the ownership structure that increased
Siemens AG’s stake, the Moroccan company was renamed Siemens S.A. on
October 1, 1999, and has since been included in the Siemens consolidated
financial statements.
