					            Class Structure and Daily Time Table for
                       Gyan Shala classes
   1. The class size is limited to 30-32 children who are divided in four groups.
   2. Each class has three tables-benches sets. Eight children can work on one table at a
      time. There is one activity-library-play corner to accommodate the forth group.

Class Schedule for Grade I
First 35 minutes: (All children sit together)

      10 Minutes: Prayer, children's song, checking the date and day of the week, and
       neighborhood news.
      10 Minutes: Reading of story, picture description and situation analysis
      15 Minutes: Teaching of the day's lesson, math and language are taken up each
       alternate day

Next 50 Minutes: (Group Activity module: children work in groups)

      25 Minutes: Teacher supervised group learning activities with two groups in
       math; each groups works for 10-12 minutes while another group observes.
      25 Minutes: Teacher supervised group learning activities with the other two
       groups in language; similar pattern as for math (The two groups that are not busy
       at one time works on individual worksheets to complete the pending work)

Next 15 minutes: All children are involved in creative play activities specified under
Project subject stream.
Next 5 minutes: Explanation of how children would complete the worksheets for three
subject streams.
Next 75 minutes: Each group work for 15 minutes each on the worksheets for three
subject streams, e.g math, language and project work, and for 15 minutes in play corner.
Around 15 minutes are spent on taking and putting back the worksheets.


Class Schedule for Grades II and III
First 20 minutes: (All children sit together)

      10 Minutes: Prayer, children's song, checking the date and day of the week, and
       neighborhood news.
      10 Minutes: Reading of story, picture description and situation analysis

Next 30 Minutes:

      15 minutes: Language lesson for the whole class
      15 minutes: Each child does individual language worksheet assignment (The two
       groups that are not busy at one time works on individual worksheets to complete
       the pending work)

Next 30 Minutes: Same pattern as above, but for math
Next 50 Minutes: Group Activity module as in the first year
Next 30 Minutes: Project work on same pattern as above for language and math modules
Next 15 Minutes: Play and fun
Last 5 minutes: Instructions for home work, if any.
