Name and title: S Comments: Less regulation means all local radio stations will pander solely to the largest audience share. The market doesn?t care about culture or the local communities. Just look at the state of the USAs local radio stations, owned almost entirely by multinationals. How is that local? How about encouraging a local radio co-operative instead? That way the stations will remain local yet have a more influential platform with advertisers, as well as shared resources. Also given that the BBC continues to increase its audience share and the advent of Podcasts, is it now finally time there was a dedicated commercial alternative to Radio 4? Some of the most popular Podcasts are comedy based, yet only BBC radio provides any real scripted comedy. There is no alternative drama of any kind. No drama, comedy or narrative.
