THE PROFESSIONAL CENTRE SLIEMA ROAD GZIRA GZR 1633 - MALTA TEL./FAX. (+356) 2131 4265 EMAIL. email@example.com WEBSITE. www.ktpmalta.com Our Ref: 07/14 14 August 2008 To all Warrant Holders Listing of practice details on Yellow Pages or similar publications The Kamra tal-Periti has on various occasions in the past and in accordance with a directive given by the Council, drawn the attention of all practising Periti to the correct procedure to be adopted for listing their practice in the Yellow Pages Directory, the Malta Business Directory or similar publications. The Kamra has also advised the publishers of Yellow Pages as follows: “Periti who advertise in your publication are to strictly abide by the Code of Professional Conduct. Only contact details may be listed (name, address, telephone, mobile and fax numbers, email address and website). Bold type is permitted, but box-outs and graphic adverts are not allowed.” “The Kamra tal-Periti also recommends that in admitting entries under the sections “Architects”, “Civil Engineers”, “Architects and Civil Engineers” and “Periti” publishers should verify that such persons are bona-fide professionals through the Periti Warranting Board.” “You are also informed that should any Perit request to be listed in your publication in a manner that does not comply with the above, action will be taken against the Perit in question.” It has also been noted that a number of Periti are advertising as associates and/or under a name which refers to a Limited Liability Company. All Periti are cautioned to note that the only legitimate manner in which Periti may provide professional services under the current legislation is either as an individual Warrant Holder or as a Partnership of Warrant Holders which partnership must be properly registered with the Warrants Board in accordance with the Law. The Kamra tal-Periti is affiliated to the International Union of Architects (UIA), the Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE), the Commonwealth Architects’ Association (CAA), Union of Mediterranean Architects (UMAR) and European Forum for Architectural Policies (EFAP). In view of the above, following a decision reached by the KTP Council, all Periti are therefore directed to ensure that their position with the Yellow Pages or any such similar publications is regularised and in accordance with the said directive by not later than the end of October 2008, copying their letter to the Kamra tal- Periti. It is to be noted that a serious view will be taken against all those Warrant Holders that do not comply with this directive with regard to listing of their details in any of the relevant directory publications printed for the local market and their position will be construed as a violation of the Code of Professional Conduct with all the implications pertaining.
