Technical study in a vocational study programme
Car mechanics is a certified trade. The average duration of study is three and a half years
including basic study in the automotive trade, a total of five semesters in a school and 48 weeks
of workplace training. The main objective of the study programme is to make it possible for
students to gain the understanding and skills necessary for car mechanics to have in their work.
The study programme concludes with a journeyman’s examination that provides qualifications
to work in the trade and to enter a study programme leading to a master’s craftsman
examination.
