Immigration Justice Project (IJP) of San Diego Liz Sweet, Director Liz Sweet is the Director of the ABA Immigration Justice Project (IJP). The mission of the IJP is to promote due process and access to justice at all levels of the immigration and appellate court system, through the provision of high-quality pro bono legal services for those in immigration proceedings in San Diego. Launched in 2008, the IJP recruits, trains and mentors pro bono attorneys to represent detained and non-detained immigrants. The IJP also implements a Legal Orientation Program for adult immigration detainees. Previously, Liz was a Staff Attorney with the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project in Arizona, and worked with Van Der Hout, Brigagliano & Nightingale, and the ACLU Immigrant Rights Project. She is a graduate of Northeastern University School of Law. Prior to law school, Liz worked with NGOs in Washington DC and Mexico City on issues of international economic development.
