Climate: Egypt is very hot and dry, it does not rain very often. The summer floods from the Nile River leave the land very fertile. The Nile River is an important part of Egypt. The Egyptians call the Nile river the life of Egypt because if there was no Nile river there would not be anybody living there. There probably would not be an Egypt or any history about it. Egypt is located in the middle of the Sahara Desert. There are no mountains in Egypt just sand dunes. The sand dunes make huge sand hills in the desert making it hard to travel. The sand dunes are crated by wind blowing the sand around. They can be up to 300 feet tall or 100 meters. Most of the Egyptian craftsman were usually trained carefully and skilled in their crafts. They were very well respected and had very comfortable lifestyles. They also transported goods which could have been anything like spices, jewellery, animals and surprisingly people. They could trade by camels, ships, horses and sometimes the trader would carry whatever he or she wanted to trade on their back. They also used gold, silver, brass and bronze. The pharaohs were the most powerful people in Egypt, then came the merchants, farmers then the slaves. The farmers and their sons would work in the farm from dusk till dawn. Mostly because when tax collecting came along they would have to give the pharaoh a large part of their crops, so they had to make sure they have enough for their family and the pharaoh. The ancient Egyptians used unstamped copper money called papyri, they also used forms of gold and silver rings. Ancient Egyptians believed in many myths. One myth that they believed in was the myth of Osiris. The Egyptians believed that when they died Osiris would carry their bodies across the Nile into the afterlife. This is the reason why relatives of the person put their greatest treasures and belongings into the tomb or grave. Another myth that the Egyptians believed in was if you killed a cat you would be sentenced to death because of a God named Bastet who's head resembled a cats head. She was the goddess of protection. The Egyptians believed in many gods, and goddesses some of their names were, Anubis, Hathor, Isis, Seth and there are very many more. Some Egyptians also thought that most Gods and Goddesses brought the flooding of The Nile, some took care of people in the after life and some offered protection and stuff like that. Education: The Egyptians used a different kind of writing everybody uses today, this special writing is called hieroglyphics. The Egyptians knew that they're writing was very important so they wrote Hieroglyphics on walls and scribes similar to what the Sumerians did. The Egyptians also had their very own Egyptian language. When a great Pharaoh The people in Ancient Egypt lived in Mud brick homes with their own family. A girl as young as Twelve would have to marry a boy that was usually older. There The Egyptian Pharaohs were the most powerful people in Egypt. The pharaohs were the political and religious leaders of Egypt. Holding the titles: 'Lord of the Two Lands' and 'High Priest of Every Temple'. Pharaohs only owned one half of the country until King Menes, the king of Lower Egypt at the time conquered Upper Egypt and then he wore a double crown and he ruled all of Egypt. He owned all of the land then made laws and defended Egypt against their enemies. Around, About 5000 BC the weather changed and the Sahara became the Sahara Desert. The people who lived in the Sahara before needed a place to get water and live so they went out on a hunt for water and found a land called Egypt. It was called The Nile Valley at the time, which was actually a swampland that the people cleared and made Egypt their home. Geography---Ancient Egypt Available at http://www.ancientegypt.co.uk/geography/home.html Was available on December 17th 2002 Social Studies text book Economics---Ancient Egypt available at http://www.ancient Egypt.co.uk/geography/home.html Was available on December 19th 2002 Social Studies Text book Religion and Philosophy---Social Studies Text book and http://www.ancientegypt.co.uk/geograp hy/home.html  was available on December 19th 2002 Social Studies text book Sociology--http://www.ancientegypt.co.uk/life/home.h tml Social Textbook
