To learn to read is to light a fire; by hsw90420

									     To learn to read is to light a fire;
every syllable that is spelled out is a spark.
                 – Victor Hugo
 Please join Literacy Action in
celebrating 40 years of igniting
  change through education.
In today’s highly technical world, literacy means so much more
than it did when Literacy Action was founded in 1968. However,
at its core, literacy is about access to information and the power
of communication. Join a distinguished panel of writers as they
discuss their views on the value and meaning of literacy in the 21st

The Writers for Readers panel is comprised of:
  • Stacey Abrams, State Representative and author of romantic
     suspense novels
  • Maggie	Edson,	winner	of	the	1999	Pulitzer	Prize	in	Drama	for
     her play “Wit”
  • Terry	Kay,	award-winning	novelist	and	screenwriter
  • Ferrol	Sams,	best-selling	novelist	and	author	of	8	books
  • Maria	Saporta,	columnist	at	the	Atlanta	Journal-Constitution

our author panel.
