About This Document: Three were excluded because they were either not a solid lesion or technically difficult - one case was abandoned after one core was obtained which the sonographer felt would be inadequate because it did not sink once placed in formalin; unfortunately a large haematoma developed which prevented further biopsies. 107 biopsies were either B2 to B5, indicating an adequate sample, and two were B1 inadequate/ non-diagnostic. [...] of 109 assessable lesions, the core biopsy adequacy rate was 107/109 (98%) confirming competency.
