									ESSENTIAL TESTING PROGRAM

The Essential Testing Program has been developed to support Nordstrom Product Group’s
efforts to improve our Speed to Market. The process involves reducing the number of tests
required for bulk raw material approval, thereby reducing the turn time for the lab. Those tests
determined to be “essential” will be conducted and include:
           Weight
           Flammability – non-exempt fabrics only
           Dimensional stability after laundering
           Appearance after laundering
           Colorfastness to crocking
 Colorfastness to chlorine and non-chlorine bleach

A second version which includes Fiber Content will be available with the same turn time for up to
two fibers (excluding complicated or specialty fibers).

To further expedite the total turn time, the Mill will be asked to submit the fabric and Test Request
Form. The lab will notify the garment supplier of the results so they can determine the status of
the bulk material.

ESSENTIAL TESTING PROCESS
    1. The NPG Production Planner sends the Bulk Fabric Commitment to the Garment
Supplier with a copy to the Mill.
 The information sent will include a blank Test Request Form, the appropriate
Nordstrom Performance Specification (NPS) and NPG Fabric Inspection Process
                  / Standards document
    2. The Garment Supplier completes the Test Request Form and emails or faxes to the Mill.
Note: The Garment Supplier will be the “Bill To” for all testing.
    3. The Mill submits the completed Test Request Form with a fabric sample to the lab.
    4. The lab notifies the “Bill To” (Garment Supplier) of the test results with a copy to the
NPG QA Testing Mailbox and Agent (where applicable).
    5. The Garment Supplier receives the results and determines the status of the bulk material
 Pass / Acceptable – advises Mill to ship fabric
 Fail – NPG Brand Textile Specialist determines a course of action and
communicates to the Garment Supplier with a copy to the Agent
    6. The Mill performs an internal inspection documenting findings on an Inspection Report
listing predominant defects and point count by roll and order. All defects found during
inspection should be flagged. The Mill will then ship the fabric to the Garment Supplier
with a copy of the Inspection Report.
    7. The Garment Supplier inspects the fabric per Nordstrom Guidelines to determine
       acceptability.
 Pass – go to production
 Fail – work with Brand to determine course of action
The Garment Supplier should document and track Mill performance based on inspection
         results.
