UNITED STATES NAVAL SEA CADET CORPS RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND CAMP SAN LUIS OBISPO, CALIFORNIA SUBJECT: SEA BAG LIST FOR STAFFCADETS NOTE TO PARENTS: Your Cadet is responsible for preparing and packing his/her Sea Bag. Please inspect their Sea Bag for the following items a week prior to Boot camp, and then lock it up. The Travel Uniform will be Dress Whites (do not lock in sea bag, but keep on hanger until ready). TRAVEL UNIFORM: Dress white uniform with flashes and rank, white belt w/silver buckle, black dress shoes, black socks, black neckerchief, white Dixie cup cover (male), combo/beret (female), current ID card. 1 Small flashlight 1 Black belt w/silver buckle 3 Dungaree shirts and trousers with flashes and names 1 Correspondence course 1 Tube of SPF 15 sunscreen 1 Sewing Kit 1 Padlock with 2 keys (no combination lock) 1 Black Ball Point Pen 1 key should be placed in personnel file 1 Pad of Paper 1 Pair of athletic running shoes 1 Pencil 2 Athletic supporters (male) 1 Chain to wear (with key 2 Athletic bras (female) around neck) 6 Pair black socks 1 Shoe shine kit 6 Pair white socks 1 Lip Balm or chap stick 6 White crew neck T-shirts 1 Soap with holder 6 Plain white cotton briefs (no boxer shorts) 1 Religious material-optional 1 Swim suit (females - one piece) 1 Laundry soap (not liquid) 1 Pair of shorts - black or blue 1 Mesh laundry bag 1 Pair of sweats - black or blue 1 Pair of shower shoes 1 Dungaree jacket (utility) 1 Hygiene supplies(shampoo, 2 White Towels toothbrush, toothpaste, 2 White Washcloths shaving gear, deodorant, 1 Bathrobe or shower wrap feminine products, comb/ 1 Sea Bag brushes.) 1 Canteen (military issue) w/web-belt 1 Wrist Watch 1 Alarm Clock 4 Self addressed stamped * Females: pins, rubber bands to secure long hair envelopes with paper 1 set Civilian clothing. Not to be worn in presence of cadets or during duty hours. CONTRABAND The following items are EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED (Do Not Bring)!!! Cosmetics Weapons Controlled Substances Matches/lighters Pornographic materials Tobacco products Electrical appliances Liquid Shoe Polish Alcoholic beverages Talc/Baby Powder Perfumes Candy, gum, food, etc. Glass containers Medications (shelf or prescribed) Aerosol cans (hairspray, shaving cream) Books/magazines (except Religious) Jewelry (except 1 optional religious medal) MONEY (paper or coin) (no more than $50.00 - must be in personnel file) (no Personal checks) NOTE: A Sea Bag inspection will be performed upon arriving at RTC (Recruit Training Command). NOTE: ALL SEA BAG ITEMS MUST BE STENCILED WITH CADET’S NAME.
