Australians are advised to avoid all travel to Togo. Following elections on
24 April, the security situation in Togo remains volatile. Large, violent
demonstrations have occurred and may continue. Expatriates have been
targeted. Australians in Togo who choose to remain should exercise extreme
caution and avoid large public gatherings.

Borders are subject to closure without notice. Entry into or exit from Togo
may be more difficult than usual.

Australia does not have any diplomatic representation in Togo. Australians
in Togo may obtain consular assistance from and are strongly advised to
register with the nearest High Commission, which is in Ghana, at:
