1. Overview
1.1. What is CASHOME Remittance via BDO?
CASHOME – remittance via BDO is a new remittance service offered by SingPost in
collaboration with Banco De Oro (BDO). It is a smart, simple and safe remittance service
that allows the transfer of money to the Recipient’s Bank Account maintained with Banco
De Oro (BDO).
1.2. What are the benefits of this service?
This is a fast, convenient and secure remittance service available at any of SingPost’s 62
post offices conveniently located island wide. The money will be credited directly to the
recipient’s bank account maintained with BDO. Senders can choose the mode of delivery
as an added convenience for your loved ones to access to the money you sent.
To further enhance the viability, remittance to Philippines via BDO is also made available
on our Self-service Automated Machines (S.A.M.) 24/7 round the clock!
1.3. Where is this service offered?
This service is available at all 62 post offices and selected Self-service Automated
Machines (S.A.M.) island-wide.
1.4. What are the payment modes?
You can fund your remittance transaction by NETS or by Cash when you transact at the
post offices and only NETS when you transact at S.A.M. All you need is to provide us
with your recipient’s bank account number and the remittance amount. Based on your
instructions, the money will be credited into your recipient’s bank account maintained with
BDO.
1.5. What is a FASTcard?
It is a prepaid Visa Electron card where your beneficiaries in the Philippines may receive
their money almost instantly via any Banco De Oro, Megalink, BancNet or Express Net
ATMS as well as over 877,000 PLUS ATMs worldwide without the need to open a
Current or Savings account.
As a Debit Card, it allows purchases from over 27 million VISA-affiliated establishments
worldwide through the card’s VISA Electron feature.
1.6. How does it work?
• You can apply for a FASTcard for your Recipient at any of our 62 Post Offices and
send money to them at the same time.
• The card will be issued and delivered to your Recipient by BDO.
• Your Recipient can perform Point-of-Sale transactions at any VISA Electron
accredited merchants or bring the FASTcard together with their ID to any BDO
Branch and encode his/her Personal Identification Number (PIN) to activate the
FASTcard to perform ATM withdrawal and balance enquiry over the ATM.
• Thereafter, you can continue to send money to credit into the recipient’s FASTcard
through any of our 62 Post Offices and selected Self-service Automated Machines
(S.A.M.).
1.7. What are the benefits for the sender for purchasing a FASTCard?
FASTcard are readily available at all 62 Post Offices island-wide and it enables the
sender to send money to their loved ones conveniently at any Post Offices and selected
Self-serviced Automated Machines (S.A.M).
1.8. How does the Recipient benefit from using the FASTCard?
• It provides the Recipient the convenience to receive/withdraw the money from over
6,500 ATMs of BDO, Megalink, BancNet or ExpressNet ATM as well as over 877,000
VISA Plus ATMs worldwide without the need to open a Checking/Savings Account.
• It enables the Recipient to shop, dine or make purchases from over 62,500
merchants in the Philippines and from over 27 million VISA-affiliated establishments
worldwide through the card’s VISA Electron feature.
• The Recipient’s FASTcard includes security features such as signature-based
purchases and PIN-based cash withdrawal from ATMs.
1.9. How much will I be charged for issuance/topping-up of the FASTcard?
• FASTcard Purchase (Metro Manila delivery) – S$9.00
• FASTcard Purchase (Provincial delivery) – S$11.00
• Cash Value Loading/Top Up – S$5.00
1.10. How many FASTcards can I apply?
You can apply up to a maximum of three (3) FASTcard, one for each 3 different
Recipients.
1.11. What shall the Recipient do upon receiving the FASTcard?
Upon receipt of the card, the Recipient must immediately sign on the white signature
panel at the back of the card. He/she can then perform Point-of-Sale transaction at any
VISA Electron accredited merchants or visit any BDO branch to encode his/her Personal
Identification Number (PIN) to activate the FASTcard to perform ATM withdrawal and
balance enquiry transaction over the ATM.
1.12. When will the Recipient receives the FASTcard?
Upon submission of the FASTcard application at any of our 62 Post Offices, the recipient
will receive the FASTcard after 5 working days for Metro Manila areas and 7 working
days for Provincial areas.
1.13. Who can send money for loading to the Recipient’s FASTcard?
Any person who wants to send money to the Philippines via any of our post offices and
Self-service Automated Machines (S.A.M) is able to do so.
2. Sending Money
2.1 Do I need to register for the service?
You will need to register for a CASHOME Card. A CASHOME Card is an identification
card for you to use at all the 62 post offices and selected S.A.M. to remit money to your
recipient. This saves you the hassle of filling out any forms.
2.2 How do I send money?
You need to register for a CASHOME Card and sign up for the remittance service at any
post office.
Simply present your CASHOME Card to the counter staff at any of our 62 post offices or
use it at S.A.M. Inform the counter staff which recipient you want to send the money to as
well as the remittance amount. For transactions via S.A.M., you will be guided through a
simple step-by-step screen flow throughout the remittance transaction.
Hand the money to the counter staff and make payment. You will receive the transaction
receipt. For transactions via S.A.M., payment can only be made via NETS Transaction
receipts will also be printed at the end of the transaction.
2.3 Is registration of the CASHOME card free?
The CASHOME Card is free! For subsequent card replacements, a S$5 fee applies each
time.
2.5 How will I be informed that the funds have been successfully sent? Can I track the
transaction?
You will receive a transaction confirmation receipt at the post office or S.A.M. once your
transaction is confirmed. In the event that the remittance is unsuccessful, we will notify
you at the earliest possible time.
2.6 How will I know if the funds have been successfully received?
You need to check with the recipient on whether the funds are successfully transferred.
3. Receiving Money
3.1 Who can receive money?
Anyone with a valid bank account maintained with BDO in Philippines and FASTcard can
receive money through this remittance service.
3.2 How much does the recipient have to pay?
Our fees are charged to the sender. No fee is expected to be charged on the recipient.
4. Fees/Charges
4.1 Who pays the fees, the person sending the money or the person receiving it?
The sender remitting the money pays the transfer fee.
4.2 When can the Recipient withdraw the cash value loaded in the FASTcard?
The recipient can withdraw the cash value loaded within 24 hours from the time you send
the money.
4.3 How much can be loaded to the Recipient’s FASTcard at any one time?
The card can be loaded with a minimum amount equivalent to one hundred pesos
(PHP100) and a maximum amount equivalent to fifty thousand pesos (PHP 50,000)
4.4 Does the FASTcard have an expiry?
The FASTcard shall be valid for a period of nine (9) years from the day of issuance and
expires on the last day of the month indicated on the card. The card will also be
terminated if it has zero value for six consecutive months.
4.5 Is there any minimum balance that the Recipient needs to maintain in the
FASTcard?
No Minimum balance is needed to be maintained in the FASTcard but the maximum
balance is pegged at fifty thousand pesos (PHP 50,000).
4.6 Are there any fees charged on FASTcard with dormant balances?
Yes, Fastcard which has not had any transactions for the past 12 months will be charged
th
a dormancy fee of one hundred pesos (PHP100) per month, starting from the 13 month.
4.7 Aside from FASTcard, what are the other means of sending money to the Recipient
in the Philippines?
You may also send money to your Recipient in the Philippines in the following ways:
• VISA FASTcard
• Credit to Recipient’s Bank Account (BDO or other Philippines Bank Accounts)
• Cash Pick-Up at Banco De Oro
• Cash Door-to-Door Service
