SIGNET Acquires Telecom Portion of IDeACOM
Customers to Benefit From More Services; IDeACOM to Focus on Network Consulting

NORWELL, MA – Tuesday, May 27, 2008 – SIGNET Electronic Systems, Inc. today acquired
the telecommunications technology portion of the Stratham, N.H.- based IDeACOM Integrated
Technologies, Inc. The asset purchase agreement allows SIGNET, the largest privately held
communications, security and life-safety systems solution provider in New England, to expand
on its existing customer base in northern New England.

“In acquiring the telecommunications portion of IDeACOM's business, SIGNET will bring its
customers the same dependable, 24-hour service, experienced advice and quality solutions.
In addition, those customers will now have access to a vast array of additional integrated
services, including video surveillance, access control, intrusion, public address, nurse call and
local area networking installations,” said Bradford S. Caron, Executive Vice President of

IDeACOM will expand its focus on its network consulting and management services business,
assisting its customers in managing the opportunities and challenges posed by recent changes
in northern New England's carrier network, most notably the switch from Verizon to FairPoint
Communications Inc.

“In the past two years alone we have seen three major network services mergers and two
technology shifts. This development allows IDeACOM Integrated Technologies to focus on the
challenges and opportunities that each change brings while continuing to work with our
customers who rely on us for our knowledge of their network design, our experience with all of
the major providers in New England and our ability to create voice and data networks that are
cost effective and provide effective disaster recovery options,” said Bradford Little, president of
IDeACOM Integrated Technologies.

In addition to purchasing the voice communications portion of IDeACOM, SIGNET will also
retain three IDeACOM telecommunication employees and will work closely with the IDeACOM
staff in its NH office. SIGNET did not disclose the terms of the sale.

The purchase of IDeACOM telecommunications assets is the second acquisition by SIGNET in
about two years. In February 2006, SIGNET acquired Executone of Rhode Island, a
telecommunications company serving southern New England.
SIGNET designs, installs and services voice, video and data equipment integrated to work
together to provide comprehensive communications, security and life-safety systems. SIGNET
