October 23, 2006
Those present: Tracy Moulds, Carol Egeland, Mary Wagner, Michelle Berg, Nancy Knox, Lori
Morken, Valerie Korynta, Jean Altepeter, Diane Wagner, Marilyn Wentzel, and Eric Erie.
Secretary’s minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Treasurer reported a checkbook balance of $5,839.43 and CD of 7,037.14.
Treasurer’s minutes were approved as read.
Dave Christianson reported that the band was in need of another French horn and asked if
the Boosters would be able to contribute toward the cost of it. It will cost approximately
$3,195.00. A motion was made by Nancy and seconded by Jean that we contribute
$1,500.00 toward the purchase of the horn. This was the same amount that we put toward
the new scoreboard for the gym. Motion carried.
Jean reported that 38 play-off favors had been made for the football players, coaches,
managers and the 8th grade players. Coach Byklum will distribute these.
Carol, Mary, and Valerie will organize favors for the volleyball team.
We discussed whether or not we would advertise on KRJB, the Ada radio station for the
play-offs. The cost will be $100.00. A motion was made by Jean and seconded by
Michelle that we do so regardless of whether the Climax Community Club helps with it.
Motion carried. Climax Comm. Club will be contacted in this regard. We are already
committed to KROX for the play-offs.
FB banquet will be held on Nov. 14, 2006. Jean and Diane will make arrangements.
VB banquet will be held on Nov. 21, 2006. Michelle volunteered to make the
arrangements. Seniors and coaches will not be charged for the meal.
Given recent circumstances in the community, Nancy requested that the financial books
be audited by the members at this time. The bylaws were checked and found that an
audit is to be held in April of each year. However, an informal review can be held by any
member at any time. Nancy and Mary will review the books now and an audit by 2
officers and 2 members will be held in April as stated in the bylaws.
Mr. Erie requested that the Booster Club contribute toward new uniforms for the girl’s basketball team.
Discussion was held and it was decided that uniforms were not something that the Booster Club wanted
to fund feeling this was the school’s responsibility.
There being no further business, Pres. Wentzel called for adjournment.
Next meeting will be held Monday, November 27th.
