City Council must adopt ID theft measure by May 1
The Gazette Staff Chillicothe City Council meets Monday with seven items on the agenda. Among the new items is a ordinance adopting an identity theft policy for city employees before May 1 in order to comply with federal laws. The ordinance would adopt a seven-page policy meant to protect employees' and customers' sensitive information. Other items up for a first reading include allowing the use of Yoctangee Park for the Feast of the Flowering Moon, applying for a $5,000 grant for the annual fireworks display, authorizing Michael Secoy to administer the 2009 National Housing Stabilization Program and accepting a donation of $880 from the Ohio Jurisdiction of Woodmen of the World for the Chillicothe Parks and Recreation Department. Items up for a second reading include authorizing a submission of proposals to the Ohio Department of Transportation for grants and appropriating $6,350 for additional design plans for the Hospital Road sewer line extension.
