Lafayette Parish, Louisiana The mission of Lafayette Parish Correctional Industries (LAPCORR) is to manufacture and deliver a quality product to government and nonprofit organizations while providing a solid work ethic to inmates. The goals of LAPCORR are to: * Provide quality goods to consumers. * Reduce inmate idleness and increase productivity. * Offer cost-savings to government and nonprofit organizations. * Provide inmates with funds for post-release. * Develop a strong work ethic in inmates. * Generate revenue to partially offset the costs of incarceration thereby reducing cost to taxpayers of Lafayette Parish. William M. DiMascio, executive director of the Pennsylvania Prison Society, praised Franklin County, lauding the efforts taken by county commissioners, the court system, and the local jail administration to rehabilitate inmates through programs such as the Day Reporting Center and finding alternatives to jail time for nonviolent offenders.
