Let me tell you about my cochlear implant.
On my first visit to the audiologist,
      I took a hearing test.
Then my family and I watched a video
telling us all about cochlear implants.
Then the doctor looked in my ears.
On the day of
surgery, they
gave me a
gown and a
funny hat to
wear.
The nurse took my temperature.
She also put
an IV on my
arm.
After the
operation I
woke up with
a big, white
bandage
around my
head.

I felt kind of
sleepy!
My mom spent
the night at the
hospital with
me.
After the
operation I
went to the
audiologist
to map my
cochlear
implant.
I played a listening game
  with the audiologists.
Now I come for therapy once a week.
We play fun listening games
with lots of different toys!
I wear a
backpack
to hold my
cochlear
implant.
I like my
cochlear
implant
because it
helps me
hear!
