                     Message From The Author
I've been building businesses and creating products
for over 30 years. Once I discovered the advantages
of marketing online, I took all my experience and
skills from the offline business world and moved
them to the Internet, where I now create and market
information products – from small how-to guides in
e-book format to larger home study courses with
video lessons.

My expertise with info products and my effective
teaching skills even prompted Internet marketing's
largest forum – the Warrior Forum – to invite me to
hold a special Private Workshop on their forum. I've
has been hailed as a creator of high-quality info
products, a superior step-by-step teacher, and an
innovative marketer who definitely thinks outside the
box.

I've been on Twitter since August 2007, but didn't
put it's true marketing potential to use until much
later. It is my wish that this guide helps you get
started profiting from Twitter much earlier.

How About Some Extra Spending Money Now?
Even though the tools you'll use with your Twitter Vending Machine will build you a
targeted following of at least 2000 in the first month, you won't be generating much revenue
from your system for the first week or two. This system is quick, but even a Twitter
Vending Machine needs some groundwork. If you want to make some instant cash (right
now), you can promote this guide to others who want to market goods or services on
Twitter, and I'll let you have 100% of the sale – directly and instantly into your PayPal
account.

I want to place this guide in the hands of marketers in diverse niches and you can help me.
In return, I'm quite happy to let you keep the proceeds.

Don't miss out on this easy way to put some quick money into your PayPal account. It only
takes a minute:

Step 1 – Replace "YourPayPal@EmailAddress.com" in the following URL with your own
PayPal e-mail address:

http://TwitterVendingMachine.com/?e=YourPayPal@EmailAddress.com

Step 2 – Send the link to your friends, family, colleagues.

Step 3 – Place the link on your blog or website, and give a quick review of this guide.

Step 4 – Tweet it!

                               What Is Twitter?
As defined by Wikipedia, “Twitter is a free social networking and microblogging service
that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. Tweets are text-based
posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the author's profile page and delivered to the
author's subscribers who are known as followers.”

Twitter is a great networking tool, where you can interact with others in your niche. It's also
a great mini blog, where others can read your latest mini post. The 140-character limit
makes tweets quick and easy to read.

Twitter As A Marketing Tool

When Twitter first started making a presence on the Internet, it was mainly used by those
who randomly tweeted an eclectic collection of tidbits to their friends. As the founder Jack
Dorsey said about the choice of Twitters' name, “The definition was 'a short burst of
inconsequential information' and 'chirps from birds'. And that's exactly what the product
was.”

As Twitter gained popularity world wide, it's function is now described by its CEO Evan
Williams as, “What we have to do is deliver to people the best and freshest most relevant
information possible. We think of Twitter as it's not a social network, but it's an information
network. It tells people what they care about as it is happening in the world.”

Twitter Vending Machine 8

To emphasize Twitter's shift from just random babble like, “I'm riding the bus downtown”,
“I'm eating soggy corn flakes”, or “Giving my hamsters a bath and may have lost one down
the drain”, Twitter recently changed its status updates question from, “What are you
doing?”, to the more news-pulling, “What's happening?”

As Twitter is evolves into more of a news and information network, it becomes more and
more an essential tool in your marketing arsenal. As followers turn to Twitter to keep up
with “What's happening?”, there's a great potential to have followers looking to you for
information – including information about new products and services, which gives you a
fantastic opportunity for promotion to a targeted, interested audience.

Avoid Becoming A Twitter Slave

The one thing that holds many back from using Twitter as a marketing tool (other than not
knowing or understanding Twitter's potential), is the fear of having it consume their time.
Seeing prolific tweeters – who seem to be tweeting something every few minutes – one can
imagine the danger of becoming a Twitter slave.

If you're doing everything manually, you could easily lose hours every day to your Twitter
efforts. There's hours of time spent trying to build and manage your Twitter following.
Then, there's more hours sending out tweets at all times of the day. You could easily end up
tired and frustrated.

However...

A Vending Machine Automates Your Profits

Your success in marketing on Twitter depends on a number of factors, and will be most
effective if – as with any marketing – you set up a campaign or a system, to make the best
use of Twitter. In this guide, you'll follow along step by step, – with screenshots showing
you exactly how – and set up a professional Twitter account, customize it, set up a system
for getting tons of targeted followers on autopilot, and use scheduled tweets to keep your
messages in front of your followers – while you use your time for other things.

This is your Twitter Vending Machine. Like a real-world vending machine, you set it up
and, in your absence, customers come and put money in your machine. All you need to do is
occasionally refill your vending machine. With your Twitter Vending Machine it works the
same.

You build your Twitter account once. You set up a system for automatically bringing the
customers to your vending machine – adding followers to your Twitter account. You set up
a system to automatically vend tweets (and your money-making promo tweets) to your
followers. Once your Twitter Vending Machine is set up (in an afternoon), all you need to
do is occasionally refill it with new tweets.

Now ... let's get started!

Twitter Vending Machine 10

Step 1: Set Up Your Pro Twitter Account
You may already have a Twitter account, but for your Twitter Vending Machine you'll want
to set up a new, separate account. This is your professional account – for a targeted
following of good prospects for your marketing campaigns.

Twitter Vending Machine 11

New E-mail Address

Each Twitter account you create must be on its own e-mail address. If you don't have a
second e-mail address, set up a new G-Mail account. (You can have a number of G-Mail
accounts.) Go to:

http://RileysPicks.com/Gmail

Click the large “Create An Account” button.

Fill out your name (1), create a user name (2), and check it's availability (3). Fill out the rest
of the form and click the button (4) to create your new G-Mail account.

That's it! Your new account is created. Note your username and password on your Info
Sheet (included in your Twitter Vending Machine package).

New Twitter Account

Now, go to:

http://RileysPicks.com/Twitter

Click the “Sign Up Now” button.

Twitter Vending Machine 14

Fill in your name (1) and create a username (2). After creating an available username,
create a strong password (3) and enter your new e-mail address (4). Enter the Captcha words
(5) and click “Create My Account” (6).

Note: You may use your own name on your personal Twitter account, but for your pro
account you want to use a name that targets your niche and your main focus of promotions.
For example: If your Twitter Vending Machine is going to be promoting products that help
people with their dating technique, a username like “MasterDater” or “DatingInLA”
(depending on your target market's location) will be attractive to Twitter users in your target
market.

Note 2: Your Twitter username is limited to 15 characters, and may not always be available,
so use the included Username Brainstorm Sheet to make a list of three or four good
usernames.

You'll be asked to find your e-mail contacts who are on Twitter. Only do this with your
personal account. For your pro account, click “Skip This Step”.

You'll also be given a selection of Twitter users to follow. As you'll be setting up a system
to do all your follower invitations in Step 3, again click “Skip This Step”.

Now, you need to confirm your new Twitter account. Go to your new e-mail account and
look for an e-mail from Twitter.

In the e-mail, click on the confirmation link.

Now, your account is confirmed, but you have a very bland and rather unappetizing Twitter
page. In the next Step, you'll customize it to make it appealing to new followers.

Step 2: Customize Your Pro Twitter Account
You'll want your Twitter account to have its own character and to brand your promotions. It
needs to be appealing to potential followers, and first appearances will make a big
difference in the number that become your followers.

You can make a number of settings to improve your account. Click on the “Settings” link.

Account

First, under “Account”, create your basic settings. Your name and username are already set
(1). Set your time zone (2) and enter a URL for your website or blog (3).

Note: If you're using your Twitter Vending Machine mainly for promoting your own
products or services, put your main website as your More Info URL. If you promote affiliate
products, you may want to put your main review blog here. Be sure to have the “http://” at
the front of your URL.

Next, enter your one line bio (1).

Enter your location (2) and leave the rest as is. You definitely DO NOT want to protect your
tweets (3). Click “Save” (4).

Note: Your bio should promise a benefit to your target market. A reason for them to follow
you or go to your website or blog. For example: If you promote lawn care products, a bio
like “Making lawns greener and easier to manage. See my lawn care tips for a greener lawn
today.” gives the reader a benefit and even a call to action to see your tips. Also, try to slip
some good keywords or keyword phrases into your bio.

Notices

Under “Notices”, you can select which actions you want to be notified about. If you're going
to use your e-mail account for any other purposes – and don't want to be swamped by
Twitter notices – de-select all these options, and click “Save”.

Picture

A picture of you – or a company logo or other graphic – is a must on your Twitter account.
Nothing looks less permanent (and less trustworthy) than an account with the default
Twitter profile icon.

First, prepare a good image. Since the image is quite small on Twitter, it's best to have a
closely-cropped portrait. This could be a full-face, angled, or a side profile. Twitter will
create a thumbnail for you, so you can upload a larger version of your photo – as long as the
file size is under 700 KB. Upload a square picture, or it will be cropped by Twitter to make
it square.

Save your image as JPG or PNG.

Under “Picture”, click to browse for your image on your computer's harddrive (1). Then,
click “Save” (2).

You can get interesting backgrounds for free at Twitter Backgrounds. Go to:

Custom Twitter Backgrounds

You can create your own custom backgrounds or get one made for you, with a logo and

Then, browse for your background image (1) and click “Save Changes” (2).

Now, your Twitter account is customized and you're ready to start getting followers.

Step 3: Get Followers On Your Twitter
For your Twitter Vending Machine to be highly effective and make you lots of money, you
need to get lots of targeted followers. There are a number of services that will get you
followers, but if they are not targeted prospects you'll just have a large list of followers – but
not one that makes you money.

To put your Twitter Vending Machine's growth on autopilot (after the initial setup you
never do another thing to get followers) you want to use Twittollower. Twittollower is a
sophisticated service that will target Twitter users in your niche and invite them to become
your followers. Through a special algorithm, Twittollower maintains your followers
automatically.

And, it's very effective. The example account below was opened on December 22, 2009. On
January 18, 2010, there were already 1968 followers – targeted followers interested in what
my tweets have to say. And, it's predicted to have close to 2500 followers by the end of the
first month – a great start to this new Twitter Vending Machine.

Open A Twittollower Account

Get Twittollower building your following on autopilot. Go to:

http://RileysPicks.com/Twittollower

Important: Set aside 45 minutes for this phase, for you must watch this video closely. Your
Twitter account (Step 1 below) is already set up, so you'll only have to set up your
Twittollower account (Step 2 below), and that only takes a few minutes.

After watching the video, and following the important directions, you'll end up on this next
page.

Again, since you've already set up a new Twitter account, you've already done Step 1 and
can skip it. Also, you won't need to watch the video, as the directions for setting up
Twittollower are all laid out for you on the next page of this guide.

Twitter Vending Machine 31

If it's still available when you go to Twittollower, I highly recommend locking in the “First
200” offer (1) – as it's a fantastic price for the number of followers you can add to your
Twitter every month. Even if it isn't available, the “First 500” offer is still a very good deal
– and will also give you an amazing ROI.

Enter your name (2) and an e-mail address (3) where you can receive your confirmation
e-mail. Create a username (4) and password (5) for logging into your Twittollower control
panel. Record your Twittollower login information on your Info Sheet.

Enter your Twitter username (6). Note: This is the new Twitter account you set up in Step 1.
Enter the name exactly as you did for your Twitter account. Be careful with this entry, as
your Twittollower will be locked to this Twitter account.

Click “Continue” (7).

Twitter Vending Machine 32

After you complete the transaction, check your e-mail inbox for an e-mail from
Twittollower. Inside, click the link to go to your login page.

Start Your Twittollower

Now, you'll select settings to get your Twittollower working on building your Twitter
following. They have a short video here, but the same directions are all laid out for you on
the next page of this guide. Click the “Set Up” link in the menu bar.

Your Twitter account username is already locked in from your registration (1). Now, you
need to enter your Twitter password (2). Note: This is your Twitter password – NOT your
Twittollower password.

Then, select your market or niche (3). Note: There are many different niches here (see list
on next page) and you want to select the one that is most closely related to your main niche.
If you have more than one niche, you can purchase additional Twittollower accounts to
build separate Twitter accounts for each niche.

Twittollower will automatically enter a number of authorative Twitter accounts to use as a
base for the start of its follower recruiting campaign (4). Note: Do NOT add any other
accounts here or in the box below it. This is for Twittollower's use only and entering other
information can cause problems with your Twittollower's operation.

Click “Save & Update” (5) and your Twittollower starts building your following. Note: It
doesn't always start immediately, and there are slow growth days, but overall you'll get over
2000 new followers per month.

Step 4: Set Up Your Control Panel
You now have two Twitter accounts (your personal account and your new professional
account). Later, you may want to add more Twitter Vending Machines – to target different
niches, or even to build a list in the same niche but with a different focus.

Instead of logging in and out of different Twitter accounts, you can use one application to
provide you with a control panel that gives you instant access to all your Twitter accounts.
HootSuite lets you run all your Twitter accounts from one tabbed panel, make posts,
schedule future posts (this is going to put your Twitter Vending Machine on semi-autopilot),
and shorten URLs. And, it's free. Go to:

http://RileysPicks.com/HootSuite

Click the large “Sign Up Now” button.

At the top, a whole tweet control center (7). Note: You'll look closer at this when you start
scheduling tweets in Step 6.

Step 5: Prepare Tweets For Twitter
Twittollower will go out to large Twitter accounts in your chosen niche and track down
good prospects for you. They will be invited to follow you on Twitter. So, be sure to give
them something that makes it worth following you.

Remember, Twitter is becoming more and more a news and information network, so give
your followers news and useful information that appeals to your niche. Prepare 5-6 useful
and/or interesting tweets. In Step 6, you'll schedule these to be tweeted at pre-set times – on
autopilot.

To help you prepare some tweets that will appeal to your niche, go out and get some
interesting and helpful information or news for your niche.

Niche Forum

No matter what niche you're in, you should be spending time in a popular forum for that
niche. If you're marketing stuff for boaters, hang out with boaters. If you're marketing stuff
for cat lovers, hang out with cat lovers.

When you go browsing at your niche forum, keep an eye out for items that could make good
news or you could comment on. Helpful information or even something controversial.

Twitter Vending Machine 43

Have a look at the post. See what ideas you can pull from it. In this example: A question
about the ethics of using other people's videos on your site.

This could lead to an opinion tweet, like: “IMO, using other people's videos on your site is
OK (if you have permission or embed from a video site), but is it branding you?”

This tweet takes the idea and turns it into a thought-provoking question. Great for involving
your followers. The more you can get them involved, the more they notice your tweets. Lay
down the groundwork for your upcoming promotional campaigns.

Save your tweets in a Notepad file. You'll want about 5-6 good tweets saved here, to
provide some good content in a series of tweets.

iGoogle

Google's iGoogle page is another place where you can pick up some good ideas on a daily
basis – from news to jokes to famous quotes. Go to:

http://RileysPicks.com/iGoogle

Click the “Add Stuff” link on the right.

Here, you get a list of gadgets to add to your iGoogle page. “BSE Sensex” would be good if
your niche is in trading and “India News” may be helpful for travel or global affairs. There
are a few gadgets that deliver quotes, which can always make good tweets if they relate to
your niche. Click “Add It Now” on any gadgets you want to add.

Now, every time you open Google, you'll have a selection of news and information to
browse. Have a quick look while enjoying your morning coffee and pull a few more ideas
for tweets.

For example: An article about Google losing ground to Baidu in China, could be interesting
to followers in the “Internet marketing” niche.

Twitter Vending Machine 47

Create a short tweet that intrigues (1) and copy the article's URL (2) to your Notepad File.

Google Alerts

You can set up an automatic alert system in your Google account to provide you with great
bits of news and information. Remember: You don't need much – just short tweets, even if
it's just a link to a news item.

While logged into your Google account, go to:

http://RileysPicks.com/GoogleAlerts

Enter a search term that relates to your niche (1), select “Comprehensive” (2), “As It
Happens” (3), and the number of results you want per e-mail (4). Enter the e-mail to deliver
the alerts to (5) and click “Create Alert” (6).

You can add more alerts, by clicking the “New Alert” button.

Shortly, you'll have alerts start showing up in your inbox. Occasionally, browse through
them and pick out interesting items. For example: This Google News item about GMC
turning to more social networking for its marketing.

Twitter Vending Machine 49

Check the article. If it's something that would be of interest to your followers, note its URL
and write a short tweet.

TV, Newspapers, Life

As you go through your day, if you see something that would make a good tweet – be it on a
website or in the 3-D world – make a note of it. Add it to your Notepad tweet list.

Get into the habit of sub-consciously evaluating everything from the viewpoint of your
niche. For example: You're watching a movie and, in a comedic scene, the main character
never once is distracted from talking on his iPhone – while a chase scene evolves around
him and general mayhem ensues. Mentally file the information for a short tweet – or even a
series of tweets – that illustrates a point to your iPhone-crazy niche.

Twitter Vending Machine 50

                  Step 6: Schedule Your Tweets
With a list of 5-6 tweets prepared, go to your HootSuite dashboard. Select your pro Twitter
account (1), paste in one of your tweets (2), and click “Send Later” (3).

A scheduling panel opens up. Set the time you want this tweet to go out (1) and click
“Schedule” (2). Note: You'll want your tweets to go out at times when your target market is
most likely to be on Twitter. For example: If your main market is in the Eastern US, you'll
want tweets going out at about 12 noon EST (when your working prospects are checking
their Twitter during lunch break) and the evening (when many are online again).

After setting one tweet, repeat the same tweet for other scheduled times. Note: You can
repeat the same series of 5-6 tweets a number of times each day. Remember, your followers
will only see some of your tweets on any given day. You need to get in front of as many
eyeballs as possible.

Twitter Vending Machine 51

When you have a tweet with a long URL, paste the tweet into your text window (1) and
paste the URL into the text shrinking box (2). Then, click “Shrink It” (3).

Now, the URL is shortened (1). Again, schedule your tweet (2). Note: Schedule your tweets
to go out together. If you get a block of 5-6 tweets coming out together, they will be more
noticable in your followers' Twitter streams.

Note: You can also schedule tweets to go out to more than one Twitter account. Simply
click on the accounts you want tweeted.

This scheduling feature of HootSuite, and the follower inviting task of Twittollower, are
what make your Twitter Vending Machine run on semi-autopilot. All you need to do is to
reload your vending machine periodically with new tweets. Then, schedule a series of
tweets – days in advance.

                    Step 7: Promote On Twitter
After your following passes the 1000 mark (which with Twittollower building your
following should be in about 2 weeks time), you're ready to start profiting from some
promotions.

Although you can get some response on Twitter for higher-ticket items, your Twitter
Vending Machine will work much more effectively if you promote low-price front-end
products or freebies that lead to back-end sales. The most effective method for funneling
followers off Twitter, is to send them to a blog, YouTube video, squeeze page, or some
other property that can further pre-sell your offer.

Your offer can be your own product, an affiliate product, an eBay auction, an item on an
e-commerce site, coupons for your restaurant, anything that can be transacted online.

When you compose your tweet for these promotions, use the same type of compelling copy
you'd use in e-mail subject lines or sales page headlines. Use eye-catching words, like
“free”. For example: To promote a free CD-ROM, a tweet like:

A Good Proportion

When you start promoting, keep it low-key. Slip in one promotional tweet with 4-5 regular,
informative tweets. This will keep you in the good books with your followers. They'll see
you as a valuable source of good news and information, and when you promote something,
they're more likely to see it as a valuable recommendation.

Hitting The Sweet Twitter Spot

One product that sells well on Twitter? Anything to do with Twitter. If you can show
Twitter users how to use Twitter, how to use it more effectively, how to use it to build their
brand (think politicians, music groups, dog grooming services), or how to make money on
Twitter, you've got an easy sell to a large segment of your market.

Just add the occasional Twitter-based promotion into your series of tweets. As with any
promotions on Twitter, keep the balance (a large percentage of info/news tweets and a low
percentage of promotions).

As you saw on page 6, you can easily promote this guide and get 100% instant commissions
into your PayPal account – a rather nice way to start bringing money in quickly from your
new Twitter Vending Machine. Just follow the simple steps below.

Step 1: Replace the “YourPayPal@EmailAddress.com” in the following URL with your
own PayPal e-mail address:
       http://TwitterVendingMachine.com/?e=YourPayPal@EmailAddress.com

Step 2: Use a tweet like, “Set up your own Twitter Vending Machine with this easy to
follow step-by-step guide” or “Twitter Recommendation: Great guide to setting up Twitter
Vending Machines”. Paste it into HootSuite.

Step 3: Paste your affiliate link (from Step 1) into the shortener and click “Shrink It”.

Step 4: Schedule your promotional tweet to run with your group of tweets.

Step 5: Watch your PayPal notifications come into your inbox.
