SIMEXPO 2008
Technique of business
Every device which will be demonstrated by different Departments of the Russian Academy of Sciences during
the exhibition “SIMEXPO - Scientific Instrument Manufacturing EXPO – 2008” (International exhibition of
instruments and equipment for scientific research) has its own, unusual, sometimes even fantastic history of
invention. In a such intriguing way Gennady Mesyaz, Vice president of the Russian Academy of Sciences,
began his speech devoted to the exhibition: “Our institutes usually get their basic funding for fundamental
researches, though instrument manufacturing is an applied branch of science”, - explains Mesyaz, who is also
the chairman of the RAS Scientific Board for instrument manufacturing. – That is why different equipment
appears as a by-product of our research activity...”
