                    CIRQUE ÉLOIZE CAPTIVATES CHINESE AUDIENCES
                           AT 2010 SHANGHAI WORLD EXPO
Montreal, Tuesday, May 18, 2010 – It was last Friday, May 14, during Montreal Day at the
Shanghai World Expo in China, that Cirque Éloize were triumphant before an estimated crowd
of 5,000 people assembled in America Square.

Jeannot Painchaud, founder of Cirque Éloize, said: “What impressed me most was the
astounded looks from the Chinese public at our artists’ multi-disciplinarity, and who, through
the World Expo, are discovering new cultures. We also took advantage of our presence in
Shanghai to invite many producers to the show
and thus created future business opportunities
                                                 for Cirque Éloize in China.”

“It is with great pride and emotion that I
witnessed Cirque Éloize’s tremendous success on
May 14th. This unique showcase allowed us to
demonstrate to the Chinese people that Montreal
holds a place as world leader in the circus arts.
Montreal Day also featured other wonderful
moments, and I can only rejoice at the idea that
Espace Montréal will continue to exert the
influence of our artists during the six months of Expo,” said Montreal Mayor Gérald Tremblay.

For this occasion, Jeannot Painchaud, director Renald Laurin, and the Cirque Éloize special
events team, prepared a festive and impressive show that was adapted to the tastes of the
Chinese public. Famous Sino-Canadian animator Dashan also participated in the performance as
a monologist telling the story “11,373 km to celebrate friendship,” the concept for the event
presented by the City of Montreal.

The event drew to a close with a dialogue between percussions and the public during which
fireworks and streamers happily sent out the message of 25 years of friendship between the
cities of Montreal and Shanghaiall to the loud applause from the audience and the joyful looks
      of the Canadian delegation.

                                                                  -30-
