Date   Now   Things to do Email students from your Home Institute to find out about their experience at IT Sligo. Check information about Sligo on tourism websites. Practice your English. Check out this web site, specifically the section for Erasmus students which is designed to help you plan your pre-departure, arrival and return home. Send application form to International Office. Check your accommodation options and prebook. Orientation & Registration takes place early September. Classes begin mid September. Exact dates will be emailed to you, with your offer letter in June.

 Arrival at Sligo  

 Essential Items to Bring to Sligo
Item Current passport which will remain valid until after the end of your study exchange period. Also keep a photocopy of passport and important documentation in a safe place. From Home Institution. (ISIC card) Apply for this card at least a month before you are due to leave home. Bring at least 2 passport-size photographs. Bring camera, flags, useful information for cultural projects/international days. Copy of your application form, learning agreements and transcript of results with final exams.

Final exam results

Bring a copy of your final exam results, if available (English translation). You may need them for Registration on arrival.

Programme/Course

 

Classes commence on mid September for Erasmus students. On arrival, you will be asked to register for your approved programme/course. This takes place during Orientation. After registration you will receive Student ID Card which allows you computer access and attend approved classes. Students can only attend the class they registered for. Important Note: Students can only sit exams that they are registered for. If you need a Letter/signature to certify that you are a registered student, for your home college. Please complete your details before bringing to the Admissions Office. Blank forms can not be signed. See ‘contacts’ on the International pages of www.itsligo.ie

Contact your Home Institute (International Coordinator and Academic) to ask if you need to return any specific documents.

Forms for Signature

Ensure that you have all forms signed before you leave IT Sligo, as the academic staff are on holidays during the summer.

Transcript of Exam Results

Your transcript of examination results will be posted to your home address. Check that if your home address changed since your original application to IT Sligo that the Admissions Office, IT Sligo has your correct home contact address and details for any further correspondence. If your Home institute requires a transcript of your examination results check the exact procedure with your Head of Department, some may send them automatically to your home college, others do not. Ensure all bills are paid in full. Close bank account in Ireland.
