Lucia Reyes, Esq., Director of Legal Services at Levitt & Quinn Family Law Center, receives Fellowship Award from Uncommon Good.
Los Angeles, CA: Lucia Reyes, Esq., Director of Legal Services at Levitt & Quinn Family Law Center, received a Fellowship Award from Uncommon Good at the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association’s 33rd Annual Installation and Awards Dinner on Friday, March 28, 2008 at Empress Pavilion Restaurant in the Chinatown section of Los Angeles, CA. The award was donated to Uncommon Good by Dr. Henry Kan. Ms. Reyes received the Fellowship Award in reorganization for her work in serving the family law needs of low income working poor families living and working in the greater Los Angeles area. In addition, Mr. Reyes was recognized for her work in stepparent and independent adoption through Levitt & Quinn Family Law Center. In 2007, Ms. Reyes and the Levitt & Quinn Family Law Center brought approximately 100 families together through stepparent and independent adoption. Anel Flores, Esq., of the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, also received a Fellowship Award at the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association’s 33rd Annual Installation and Awards Dinner. Uncommon Good, a Claremont, CA. based non-profit organization, works to ensure that the poor have access to quality education, healthcare and legal services. Uncommon Good provides mentoring and other services to low income children to help break the cycle of poverty. Levitt & Quinn Family Law Center, a Los Angeles, CA. based non-profit organization, provides legal representation in family law matters to low income working poor families living and working in the greater Los Angeles area. Levitt & Quinn Family Law Center to Honor California State Attorney General Jerry Brown and Los Angeles County Superior Court, Family Law Department Judge Robert A. Schnider at its 27th Annual Awards Dinner
Los Angeles, CA: Levitt & Quinn Family Law Center is to honor California State Attorney General Edmund “Jerry” Brown, Jr. and Los Angeles Superior Court, Family Law Department Judge Robert A. Schnider at its 27th Annual Awards Dinner on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. Attorney General Brown is to receive the Levitt & Quinn Award for Outstanding Community Service. Judge Schnider is to receive the Ethel Levitt Award for Humanitarian Services. Levitt & Quinn Family Law Center, a Los Angeles, CA. based non-profit organization, provides legal representation in family law matters to low income working poor families living and working in the greater Los Angeles area. Key legal services provided by Levitt & Quinn Family Law Center include adoption, child support, custody and visitation, domestic violence, grandparent rights, guardianship, marital dissolution, paternity, spousal support and full representation in court. Brown, Jr., known as “Jerry”, a native of San Francisco, CA, is a member of one of the most illustrious families of California. His father, Edmund “Pat” Brown was elected Governor of the State of California serving from 1959 to 1967. Jerry Brown also served as Governor from 1975 to 1983 then later as mayor of Oakland, CA from 1998 to 2006. In 2006, Jerry Brown was elected Attorney General of California. Robert A. Schnider was a partner in the law firm Schnider & Schnider from 1971 until his election as a Commissioner of the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in 1981. In practice, Judge Schnider was a Certified Family Law Specialist. He was appointed as Judge of the Superior Court in 2002. From 2005 to 2007, Judge Schnider was Supervising Judge of the Los Angeles County Superior Court Family Law Department, the second largest family law department in the country. Levitt & Quinn Family Law Center’s 27th Annual Awards Dinner is to take place on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Skirball Cultural Center. Past honorees include Antonia Hernandez, Professor Laurie Levenson, Sorrell Trope and Edward James Olmos.
