Located at 7000 kms from Europe, in the north of the South American continent, it
is a French department : French Guiana,frontier of Surinam and Brazil.



With more than 90 000 km², this huge territory represents 1/6 of France’s surface
and is covered at more than 90% of a forest as dense as mysterious :
the Amazonian rain forest...


Its population of about     150 000 inhabitants has very various origins: creoles,
metropolitans, amerindians, h’mongs, chineses, brazilians, haïtiennes, libaneses...
