                               2010 SEASON
GUATEMALA, AS MOST ANGLERS KNOW, IS THE PLACE TO GO FOR “HIGH VOL-
UME” SAIL FISH ACTION. PRIME SEASON BEGINS IN DECEMBER. IN ORDER TO GET
THE DATES YOU WANT, NOW IS THE TIME TO BOOK. CALL TREK FOR DETAILS.

Trek anglers have been fishing these prolific waters for well over a decade and the stories of 20 plus
sails in a day have gotten to be routine. Due to the popularity of Guatemalas sail fishing the main
problem has always been getting the dates that you want and not having to settle for what is left over.
Well, we are getting a jump on the 2010 season right now and giving you the chance to get on board
before the phones begin ringing off the hook. Although we normally advertise Thursday-Monday dates
in our newsletters, you can travel on any schedule you desire.
The Trip- Upon arrival into Guatemala City, you will be met by a representative of Sailfish Bay Lodge
and be driven the 90 minutes to the lodge. Built on a barrier island, a five minute boat ride from the
mainland, Sailfish Bay Lodge is a newly constructed 8 bedroom beach front property with the pool and
jacuzzi overlooking the Pacific. The next three mornings you will be up at 6:00am for breakfast before
heading to the marina to board your 31-33 foot boat for a full day of salt water action. Fly fishing
equipment is available on a rental basis with saltwater flies for sale at a nominal rate. When you get
back to the lodge around 4:30pm, you will have time to relax around the pool or on the beach with
snack and drinks while dinner is being prepared. After your last day of fishing, you will be transferred
back to Guatemala City and your accommodations for the night. On the morning of day five, you will
head to the international airport for your flight back to the States.
The Fishing- Although sail fish are your main target, you may also get shots at dorado, tuna and the
occasional marlin. The best bite in Guatemala is generally within an hour of the marina. So, short runs
in calm seas and tons of sail fish, whats’ not to like ? Throw in a deluxe lodge with delicious meals and
open bar and that is about as good as it gets. Call the Trek office for
early booking opportunities.
