The Budget and the SIP
A SIP objective generally requires funds to be spent in support of reaching the objective. Support could be: – Additional staff – Additional materials – Teacher training – Hardware/equipment – Consultants, conferences, conventions

Budget Information
Substitute teachers cost $80/day Department chairpersons, grade level chairs, and team leaders receive one sub per month (September to June) – Up to 7 elementary school leaders ($5,600) – All Others, up to 8 leaders ($6,400)

Instructional Materials
SIP objectives may require additional instructional materials Instructional material funds are categorical Basic textbooks and related materials must be purchased from the state adopted materials list Supplemental materials may be purchased at anytime to assist in specific areas of instruction

Supplemental Materials
Includes software, AV materials, maps & globes, workbooks, newspapers & magazines, and paperback books Does not include hardware or equipment Limited amounts can be carried over from year to year (with explanation) Instructional material funds can be used to buy non-state adopted supplemental materials Purchases should be aligned with SIP objectives
