Is the IGP(Individual Graduation Plan) the same thing as the ILP?

Yes and no. The ILP is the electronic web-enabled version of the paper-based IGP. It will contain the
same information that students gathered with the IGP but the ILP will have many more capabilities than
what was available on the paper-based IGP.

What will the new ILP’s be like?

Career Cruising (CC) was the winning vendor, and you can visit their website (www.careercruising.com)
to see what their product looks like. The online ILP will be similar, but with uniquely IGP/KY elements.
There is substantial development for CC to "Kentucky-fy" their tool, but you can at least get an idea. Two
of their major strengths were their user-interface and depth of material relating to career counseling. The
tool will also be integrated with the www.gohigherky.org website for college planning, help with tuition
and applications.

Will STI manage the ILP?

STI will provide lots of the data upon which the ILP will be based, such as student demographics and any
other available pertinent information. However, STI, or whatever SIS KDE will use, will not specifically
manage the online ILP.

When will the ILP roll out?

KDE is expecting to begin a rollout in fall 06, with schools personnel being trained regionally. At some
point, the ILP will completely replace the paper-based version, but KDE doesn’t see that happening within
the calendar year. Hopefully some ILP’s will run at the same time other schools are working with IGP’s
until the roll out is complete. It is difficult to really predict when the ILP will completely take over the IGP.
The ILP implementation team is working to develop a roll out plan. The rollout will not consist of IGP one
day, ILP the next, but rather a more gentle transition.

What types of information will be on the ILP?

It will contain similar information from the former IGP, transcript-like info, and quite a bit more, such as
student education plan information and the ability to upload media files, pictures, etc. to have a complete
picture of the student’s learning plan, past, present and future.

Will the ILP originate in the 8 grade as was talked about at the ISN last Fall?

The newly changed High School Minimum Graduation Requirements Regulation states that beginning

with the graduating class of 2013, 6 grade students will begin developing their ILP. 6 grade students
for the 2006-07 school year would be the graduating class of 2013, so they would need an ILP.

Will we receive training on the new ILP?

Training was built into the contract, and will be provided by Career Cruising. Expect to hear about
trainings in your area for the late summer and fall of 2006.

Do I do the paper version with my current 8 grade students?

It will be several months before the online ILP will be ready. Until then, it is business as usual - continue
using the paper IGP just like you have been using it.
