Charts are a graphical representation of data and are generally used in presentations and reports to help viewers understand simple or complex data. The data used to create the chart can either be entered manually or imported from an existing data file, such as a spreadsheet or text file. Charts are a brilliant way to add meaning to data. 1. Creating a Chart
Charts are created in PowerPoint using an application called MS Graph, which is also available in the other main MS programs. This has been automatically installed, so will appear when you being to create a chart. You can do this in one of 3 ways: Menu Toolbar Slide Layout

Click the Insert Chart icon on the standard toolbar

2. Selecting the Data
Once you have activated MS Graph, you will be shown the datasheet, which contains sample data so you can preview the chart. Use Datasheet Import File

2. Editing the Chart
You can now make some basic changes to the chart e.g. updating data, changing data source or adjusting the chart type. Update Data Change Data Source Adjust Chart Type
