Facial warts are infectious skin growths caused by the human papillomavirus
(HPV). They can develop alone or in clusters. They can show up anywhere on the
body but are most commonly found on hands, fingers, arms, knees and most
noticeably on the face. They can be burned off with lasers or freeze them off with a
nitrogen solution. I had one burned off my finger but it left a scar. Scarring on the
face is reason enough to look for natural remedies that will not scar the skin.

There are several kinds of warts but flat warts generally show up on the face.
They are smooth and round and tend to appear around the eyes, nose and
mouth. Most warts eventually go away on their own but many people find them
unattractive and embarrassing so they look for ways to remove them without
scarring.

Here's a few remedies that have anecdotal evidence that they work. Some of them
are smelly or messy and some of them can be painful. Some of them would be
difficult to apply to the face but would work in other areas. Most of them take several
days or even weeks to be effective.

   1. Garlic – place a clove of crushed garlic on the wart. Cover it with a bandage
      for a week.
   2. Dandelion milk – squeeze the milk from a dandelion stem onto the wart a few
times a day for several days.
   3. Place a drop of pineapple or grapefruit extract on the wart several times a day
for as long as it takes for the wart to disappear.
   4. Banana peel – place a small piece of peel, skin side up, onto the wart. Keep in
place with a bandage. Change the peel 2-3 times a day until the wart is gone.
Apparently bananas have an enzyme that remove warts.
   5. Potato peeling – rub a piece of potato peeling, skin side up, on the wart
several times a day for a few weeks until the wart is gone.
   6. Apply apple cider vinegar to the wart several times a day until it is gone.
   7. Duct tape – cover the wart with duct tape to suffocate it. Keep the tape in place
for several days, remove, file the wart down with an emery board, reapply
fresh tape, repeat until the wart is gone.

Many or even most home or homeopathic remedies to remove warts on the face can
be messy and smelly and they can take weeks to remove the wart. There is another
method that has shown results in as little as 3 days. Read about it here.
