glory of Madurai is the Meenakshi Sundareshwara Temple Complex, which is dedicated to
Goddess Meenakshi, her consort Lord Sundareshwara, and her celestial brother, Lord Vishnu.
The Meenakshi Temple has a thousand-pillared hall. In the evening, listen to the distinctive
temple music at Thiruppa Rakundram. Night stay in Madurai.
Day 5/ Madurai, Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary
Morning travel to Periyar, best known for its 800 sq. km wildlife sanctuary. The Periyar Lake
lies at the heart of the sanctuary. Take an elephant ride around this lake to see tigers, deer, wild
dogs, lion-tailed macaque, Malabar squirrel and sloth bears. The lake attracts all kinds of water
birds. In the vicinity are lofty observation towers, and a medieval palace, now a hotel. A quick
lunch at Thekkady and back to Periyar crowns the day. Night stay in Periyar.

Day 6/ Periyar, Alleppey Rice Barge (House - Boat)
Early morning view by boat before leaving by car to the rice barges—originally cargo boats but
now refurbished as comfortable live-in houses on boat. Two men using tall bamboo poles push
the barge through the water and they notch up a speed of 18-20 km/day. Facilities on the boat
include lounge + dining area, double bed with mosquito net, bathroom with WC and wash basin.
Pretty, thatched awnings let in the breeze, while lanterns provided at night create a magical
ambience.

Day 7 & 8/ The Fascinating Backwaters of Kerala
From Alleppey to Thottapally Village, on own house-boat, through a unique network of lakes,
coconut shaded canals and estuaries, offers an exhilarating experience. This is the best way to
experience the tranquility of Kerala and reach the wonderful coastline of Kochi, a splendid
cluster of islands.

Day 8,9,10/ Sightseeing Kochi
One of the largest ports of India, Kochi is a cluster of islands and narrow peninsulas. Here you
can see the oldest church in India, congested Portuguese-built colonies, Chinese fishing nets, an
ancient ―white Jewish‖ community who settled here 1000 years ago, a fabulous 16th century
synagogue, a palace which contains the most beautiful murals, and the oldest European fort in
India. Night stay in Kochi.

Day 11/ Coonoor
Morning drive to the hill-station of Coonoor, which, along with Udhagamandalam (popularly
called Ooty), is called the Twin of the Nilgiris. Rest of the day in leisure. Night stay in Coonoor.
Day 12/ Sightseeing, Ooty & Coonoor
Morning proceed for city sightseeing. Gorgeous hill-top views, endless walks and cool, cool
weather throughout the year make the 12th day rejuvenating for the mind and body. The
waterfalls are simply amazing and there is a mini-gauge railway train too. Night stay in Coonoor.

Day 13, 14 & 15/ Mysore
Morning drive north to Mysore. The city got its name from Mahishasura, the buffalo headed
demon king. Chamundeswari, an incarnation of Parvati, consort of Lord Shiva, killed the demon.
It is also the capital of sandalwood, musk and rosewood. Night stay in Mysore.

Day 16/ Mysore - Chennai
Morning transfer to railway station and entrain to Chennai. On arrival meet assist and transfer to
hotel. Night stay in Chennai.

Day 17/ Excursions – Mammalapuram - Kanchipuram
Morning excursion to Mammalapuram. It is a retreat amidst natural beauty. The monuments are
hewn out of solid rock, though ravaged by the sea and the wind. The Shore Temple is one of the
oldest in South India. Early rock-cut temples excavated from the hillside have large carved
panels depicting scenes from the Mahabharata and the Goddess Durga killing the buffalo-headed
demon. A Crocodile Farm nearby is quite interesting. 71km south of Chennai, Kancheepuram is
called the land of a thousand temples.The Ekambareswara Temple, a Shiva shrine, depicts the
Lord as Prithvi or Earth. The temple is famous for its 1000-pillared hall, which is a huge
ornamental chain carved out of a single piece of stone. Other famous temples are the Sri
Kamakshi Amman Temple dedicated to Goddess Parvati, Sri Vaikuntha Perumal Temple,
Kailashnathar Temple and the Devarajaswamy Temple built on an elephant shaped rock. Night
stay in Kanchipuram.

Day 18/ Chennai Departure
Morning leave for Chennai. Arrive & transfer to hotel. Spend the day in shopping the rare art and
artefacts of south India. Later transfer to airport for onward destination

New Delhi : The new capital designed by Sir Edward Lutyens. An interesting drive in the one
passing through the impressive Rajpath from the World War I memorial arch, the India Gate
towards the Presidential Palace. Visit Humayun's Tomb built in 1565 AD, Safdarjung's Tomb,
the Qutab Minar, 72 meters high and the most curious antique, the uncorroded Iron Pillar, which
dates back to the 4th century AD. NEW DELHI - An extensive sight-seeing tour of New Delhi
would include a visit to the Humayun's Tomb, the Qutub Minar, a drive along the ceremonial
avenue - Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate, Parliament House, the President's Residence and
would end with a drive through the Diplomatic Enclave Visit the powerful, majestic Hindu

Day 3/ Delhi - Bangalore - Puttaparthi
After late breakfast, transfer to Domestic Airport for flight to Bangalore, and continue to

Day 4/ Puttaparthi (Christmas with Sathya Sai Baba)
After breakfast, full day at Puttaparthi and visit Sri Sathya Sai Baba Ashram. Night stay in
Puttaparthi.

Day 5/ Puttaparthi - Tirupati
After breakfast, drive to Tirupati and transfer to hotel. Visit to Lord Balaji Temple. Night stay in
Tirupatty. Tirupati is a dusty bustling little town at the foot of the Tirumalai Hills in the southern
tip of Andhra Pradesh. Every day thousands of pilgrims descend on Tirupati spilling out of
buses, cars, taxis and trains. They are all on their way up to the temple of the Lord Venkatswara
up in the Tirumalai hills. It is an old temple, that has witnessed the rise and fall of powerful
dynasties. The Pallavas, Cholas and Pandayas were all patrons of the shrine and they endowed it
with jewels and wealth. It is a pleasant drive from Tirupati up to Tirumalai and as the road winds
its way up the forested slopes there are splendid views of Tirupati and the plains. The temple is a
perfect example of the Dravidian style of temple architecture. Within the three parakarams or
enclosures of the temple complex is the main shrine with its exquisitely worked and gilded
vimana above it, gleaming in the sun. This early morning ritual is an unforgettable experience -
as the myriad flickering oil lamps light up the sanctum and the majesty of the deity decked in
glittering ornaments, the absolute silence is broken by the chant of the priests. It is the beginning
of another day at the temple.
Day 6/ Tirupati - Chennai
After breakfast, drive to Chennai. Reach Chennai and later on half-day city tour of Chennai.
Night stay in Chennai. Chennai (previously known as Madras), the first city of South India and
the capital of Tamilnadu state, is a historic land of ancient culture. India's most southerly city
brims with magnificent architecture, exotic pageantry, and age-old traditions. The Dravidian
dynasties of Pallavas, the Cholas and the Pandiyas, all left their marks on the culture and
architecture of the region. Chennai, a thriving seaboard that did business with the Chinese,
Greeks, Phoenicians, Romans, and Babylonians 2000 years ago and later the French, Portugese,
Armenians, and Arabs. Chennai remembered history goes back to the 4th Century. Night stay in

Day 7/ Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram
After breakfast, leave for Mahabalipuram, en route visiting Kanchipuram and Kamakshi Temple.
Reach Mahabalipuram in the evening.Mahabalipuram: Globally renown for its shore temples,
Mahabalipuram was the second capital of the Pallava kings of Kanchipuram. 58 kilometres from
Madras on the Bay of Bengal, this tiny sea - side village of Mahabalipuram, is set in a boulder -
strewn landscape. Tourists are drawn to this place by its miles of unspoiled beach and rock-cut
art. The sculpture here is particularly interesting because it shows scenes of day-to- day life, in
contrast with the rest of the state of Tamil Nadu, where the carvings generally depict gods and
goddesses.
Kanchipuram is among the most famous of the 'temple cities' of Tamil Nadu. Its temples house
different Hindu sects. Though today it is only a destination for pilgrims, and a repository of
major architectural monuments, in antiquity it occupied a more preeminent place in the history of
South India.The Ekambareshvara temple is the principle Shaiva sanctuary and its soaring
gopuras dominate the ccity's skyline.

Day 8/ Optional Day Trip to Thiru Annamalai and Ramana Maharishi Ashram.
Optional: Visit to Thiru Annamalai and the ashram in Arunachala of famous Vedanta Advaita
(Non-dualism philosophy) saint, Ramana Maharishi.

Day 9/ Mahabalipuram - Chennai - Madurai
After breakfast, tr.ansfer to Domestic Airport for flight to Madurai, Reach Madurai. Afterwards,
visit to the Meenakshi Temple and transfer to hotel. Night stay in Madurai.

Day 10/ Madurai - Kanyakumari
After breakfast, half-day sightseeing of Madurai and continue to Kanyakumari. Reach
Kanyakumari and transfer to hotel. Madurai, situated in southern Tamil Nadu, is a district with
its headquarters in Madurai city, on the banks of Vaigai river. Madurai is the second largest city
in Tamil Nadu. It is more than 2,500 years old and is an important cultural and commercial
centre. Madurai, once the seat of Tamil learning and still the place where Tamil language is
spoken in its purest form, is an ancient city planned in the shape of lotus. Night stay in

Day 11/ Explore Kanyakumari - New Years Eve at Mata Amritanandamayi Ashram
After breakfast, full day sightseeing of Kanyakumari and Vivekenanda Memorial Rock.Cape
Comorin, Land's End mainland India's southernmost point, where three seas meet and where the
shore temple to the virgin goddess Kanyakumari stands. It is one of the sacred pilgrimage places
of the hindus. There are two significant memorials here. One is the Gandhi Mandapam, built to
commemorate the immersion of the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi in the waters by the temple. The
other memorial, dedicated to Swami Vivekananda, is built on the rock 656 ft. from the shore
where he meditated in 1892 before taking the message of the Hindu philosophy to the west.
Swami Vivekananda was the foremost disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. Night stay in

Day 12/ New Years Day at Mata Amritanandamayi Ashram - Trivendrum
New Year's Eve and New Year's Day at Mata Amritanandamayi Ashram and later on continue to
Trivandrum. Transfer to hotel. Mata Amritanandamayi is believed to be an avatar--an
incarnation of Mother Divine in human form. She is the first Indian saint to give her blessings by
hugging each aspirant who visits her. To receive a hug from "Ammachi," as she is called by her
devotees, is to experience the nectar of divine love flowing into your heart and illuminating your
mind. This is something that has to be experienced in order to understand its power. A feeling of
true spiritual grace is bestowed upon every person who visits this wonderful saint. We will have

Day 13/ Trivandrum - Delhi

DAY 04 : JAIPUR
After breakfast, excursion to Amber Fort. Elephant ride from the foothills of the Aravallis to the

of Jaipur state. Construction of the fort began in 1592 by Raja Man Singh, the Rajput
commander of Akbar's army and is a superb example of Rajput architecture.

Afternoon, city tour of Jaipur. Visit the City Palace which has museum having an extensive
collection of art, carpets, enamel ware and weapons; Jantar Mantar - the observatoyr built my
Maharaja Jai Singh in 1728 and the façade of Hawa Mahal.

DAY 05 : JAIPUR - FATEHPUR SIKRI - AGRA
After breakfast, leave for Agra. Enroute visit the abandoned Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri : built
by Emperor Akbar in 1569, was the old capital of the Moghuls, which was abandoned after 15
years due to scarcity of water. See the graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid, Tomb of
Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal & other Palaces which are still preserved in its original glory.
Continue drive to Agra. Arrive Agra in the evening and checkin at prebooked hotel. Overnight at
the hotel.

DAY 06 : AGRA
After breakfast, city tour of Agra. Visit Red fort, which was built by Emperor Akbar in 1565,
and additions were made up until the time of his grandson, Shah Jahan. It contains the hall of
public and private audiences amongst many other beautiful structues; Itmad-ud-daulah, which
was contructed by Nur Jahan between 1622 and 1628 and is very similar to the tomb she
constructed for her husband, Jehangir, near Lahore in Pakistan; the highlight of the day - The Taj
Mahal, which was constructed by Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal.
Contruction of the Taj began in 1631 and was not completed until 1653. Over night stay at Hotel.
DAY 07 : AGRA - DELHI
After breakfast, leave for Delhi. Arrive Delhi and checkin at prebooked hotel. Afternoon, city
tour of New Delhi. Visit Humayuns Tomb : built in mid 16th century this is an early example of
Mughal architecture; Qutab Minar, drive past India Gate, President House, Connaught Place.
The city tour ends with a visit to Laxmi Narayan Temple (Birla Mandir).

DAY 08 : DELHI-SRINAGAR (FLIGHT)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport to board flight for Srinagar. On arrival in Sringar meet and
assist at the airport and transfer to houseboat on Dal/Nagin Lake. Welcome drink on arrival at
houseboat.

After lunch – Visit the famous Mughal Gardens- touring Cheshma Shahi (The Royal Spring),
Nishat Bagh (Garden of Pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of Love). Evening return to

years due to scarcity of water. See the graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid, Tomb of

inscription below that dates the statue to the 5th century ad. Ramabharstupa – referred to as the
mukt bandhan vihar in ancient Buddhist texts, this stupa marks the site where the lord Buddha
was cremated. This large stupa rises to a height of 49 ft. after sightseeing drive to lumbini (185

Day 10: Lumbini / Sravasti
